The Experience

Relax in the shade of the mulberry tree; swim a lazy lap in the pool. It’s blissfully quiet here, just the birds, the cicadas, the odd whinny from the horses, and the occasional chug of the tractor at harvest time.

Set on a hillside with views across the owners’ young olive grove, this spacious sunny gite, attached to the main house but facing away from it, has its own driveway, small garden, and pool. There’s a wood-burner for cool nights, bedrooms up and down, delicious basics to help settle you in, and eggs from five pretty hens.

Pick up your croissants from down the road; stock up in ancient Vaison-la-Romaine (7km). Don’t miss its Tuesday market, or breakfast at Thé Chez Toi, one of the owners’ favourites. Wild swim at Toulourenc (25km), hike the Dentelles de Montmirail; test your cycling skills on challenging Mont Ventoux.

Reviews

Tisha and family have really put everything into making your stay a special one. The gîte is newly renovated but with the feel of an old country house, comfy beds, crisp linen and a fully equipped kitchen with all the extras. The area has so much to offer too, for walking, cycling, culture and a fabulous restaurant a short stroll from the front door! We can highly recommend and you won't be disappointed, even if you choose to just kick back at the private pool and enjoy the views of lavender and olive groves.

Katey, Annecy

Delightful owners will go out of their way to ensure you have the most memorable holiday in their charming and very comfortable home tucked away in a scenic valley close to Roman ruins, famous vineyards, markets and many sporting challenges. You have total privacy, a pool, great views and tranquillity. Rooms are sunny and in total harmony with their Provence surroundings. Magic.

Location

The neighbourhood

With views across the neighbour's vineyards, the Little Olive Farm lies down a peaceful lane midway between Malaucène and Vaison-la-Romaine, each a ten-minute drive. The stunning hilltop winery Chêne Bleu (6km) offers organic summer picnics and aperos in their gardens, while closer still is La Fleur Bleu, a delightful restaurant in a rustic setting that you can stroll to.

Local points of interest from Gary & Tisha Bryant

  • Netled in a valley in the foothills of Mont Ventoux and close to the Dentelles de Montmirail, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The gîte is perfectly situated for walking, cycling, and exploring by car.
  • Crestet is our local village, where there is a boulangerie and three restaurants. It is located between the historic towns of Vaison-la-Romaine and Malaucène. Both of these towns are within 10 minutes by car and have a number of restaurants and shop.
  • Vaison-la-Romaine is an 8 minute drive from the gîte. It's famous for it's Roman ruins, medieval town, cathedral, amphitheatre, and 1st century A.D. bridge. It also hosts the best outdoor market every Tuesday all year-round.
  • For cyclists, we are in the perfect place to explore some of the most iconic and beautiful roads in the world including the famous Mont Ventoux climb. There is something for everyone! There is secure bike storage on site with essential tools provided.
  • We are very fortunate to be in one of the best winemaking regions in France including Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, to name a few. By far our favourite is the Chêne Bleu, located in our local village of Crestet it is a great place to visit.
  • Close by: Avignon, L'Isle sur la Sorgue, Gorges de la Nesque, Gorges du Toulourenc, Orange, Gordes, Sault, Seguret, and Gigondas.
