The
Experience

How good can it get? Brilliantly central for all of Paris – buses galore, six metros, bike rental at the door, train to Versailles five minutes away – this generous flat has quiet space and contemporary style. You leave the busy street for a long, smart porch that ends in greenery. Take the lift to your flat and breathe the peace. The high, arched living-room window looks out over a pretty garden, throwing light onto two chocolate-brown sofas – one leather, the other a high-quality designer sofa bed – fire-red cushions and curtains, stylish see-through dining table and chairs. Through a thick curtain, the bedroom also overlooks the garden, its new, super-comfortable bed adaptable from one large double to two singles. Thick biscuit-coloured carpeting softens your step throughout, there are cupboards everywhere, the full fitted kitchen comes with generous basics and the grey-and-pink bathroom is wheelchair accessible. A highly restful place to come back to after a day working, walking or doing some serious sight-seeing. And Rosemary, dynamic and knowledgeable, is just two floors up.

Reviews

52 Clichy completely met our needs for a wonderful stay in Paris. We look forward to returning!

Nancy, Bennington

Before reviewing 52 Clichy, I wrote to all my friends who ever visit Paris, strongly recommending it. Can't imagine finding a better place for a comfortable, attractive and congenial stay - also extremely well placed for transport or walking. For me a 4 day stay in a city like Paris always feels too short. Rosemary's generous and authoritative advice helped make sure we made the very most of our time. It's a terrific place to stay.

Pat, London

Very comfortable apartment and well equipped. Our host was delightful and very helpful throughout our short stay. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Caroline

Fabulous apartment ....great location.... What's not to like.....would highly recommend ....& will certainly be back.

Rosemary’s apartment is a perfect place to stay in Paris. Great for us with two children (who got the bedroom), and we had the very comfy sofa bed. Apartment has all that is needed to feel like home. Wonderful bakeries close by. Great location near Moulin Rouge. Rosemary can provide breakfast upstairs in her apartment – do this, the pastries are to die for, and she gives a wonderful insight into living in Paris.

Charlotte

A very comfortable 'home from home'. I cannot imagine a better deal for a family of four in this wonderfully convenient location. Rosemary was most gracious with her time and advice on where/when to go to Paris's sights, and only too happy to share her deep knowledge of her adopted city. Excellent breakfasts. Spacious apartment with very good facilities. Well ventilated for warm summer nights. Highly recommended.

John

This spacious apartment was the perfect base for the two of us. One might think that the location could be a little too far from the centre, but the civilised surroundings of the district, well supplied with relevant shops and services, coupled with a Metro station just 5 minuted walk away make a great location. In fact we walked to the Louvre in around half an hour. The 3rd floor apartment is reached by a lift in a modernised building accessed through a courtyard, and provides a quiet refuge after a tough day siteseeing. A small criticism is that the over-bath shower is rather cramped.

Robert

Great central apartment. Rosemary was a wonderful host and gave many good recommendations, even booking restaurant reservations for us. Would love to return.

  • The copious but healthy breakfast Rosemary provides in her B&B can be delivered to your door any or every morning for €8/€5 per adult/child otherwise there is a fantastic bakery 20m away and supermarkets opposite open 7 days a week.
  • Wheelchair bound guests will appreciate that the bathroom is fitted with grab rails around the bath and toilet. A seat can be used over the bath too. Current photo shows the grab rails around the bath. Elevator to the door. No steps to climb at all.
  • Try the organic market on Saturday mornings at Place de Clichy or the huge local market on saturday and Wednesday mornings at Barbès. Pop down the road to the luxury dept stores Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, our Harrods equivalent.
  • A 5 min walk uphill will take you to the base of Montmartre; have a peaceful night's sleep but be so close to the cafés, restaurants & little shops that make up this vibrant, local, artist community.
