Local points of interest from Matthieu de Montenay

  • Hop on a bicycle and go and visit the Champ de Mars and the Tour Eiffel, or take a metro to the Invalides, the Rodin museum, the Quai Branly museum, the Tour Montparnasse, or the Parc des Expos Porte de Versailles!
  • Walk to these delightful shopping streets: Rue du Commerce, Rue Saint Charles and Rue Cambronne.
  • Explore Georges Brassens' park, and the nearby Villa Santos-Dumont (a picturesque cobblestoned impasse) and André Citroen's park (where you can get a unique view of Paris on board the world's biggest air-balloon, from an altitude of 150 m!)
  • Some of our favourites walks: wander along the Petite Ceinture (the little belt), reclaimed from parts of an old urban railway route or l'Ile aux Cygnes (which links the Pont de Grenelle to the Eiffel Tower).
  • Book and antique lovers: go and explore the "Marché du livre ancien" in the Georges Brassens' park or the "Puces de Vanves", one of Paris' best flea markets.
  • Our recommendations for museums: the Musée Bourdelle, the Cité d'artiste la Ruche (filled with artists - in the past, Modigliani, Soutine, Brancusi, Léger, Marie Laurencin, or even Chagall stayed there!), the villa Santos Dumont
