The Experience

Vibrant colour, family antiques and atmosphere are here thanks to Laurent’s flair for interiors (he’s a lighting designer) and his love of meeting people. He’s also a walking encyclopaedia on Paris.

After patisserie, homemade jam and excellent coffee, explore Paris using Laurent’s specially-designed map: the main sights, places to eat, museums and markets on one side; three neighbourhood walks on the other. Return to discuss your day over a glass of wine and canapés in the library/living room.

You’ll feel like a local staying in this residential neighbourhood but it’s very central: Gare du Nord is only a ten-minute walk away; the department stores on Boulevard Haussmann are 15 minutes and the Louvre is 30 minutes.

Great place - well fitted out and attractive rooms, superb breakfast and very interesting sitting/breakfast room with maps, pictures, lamps and various objets. Laurent was extremely helpful and friendly. We walked or use the velibs to get around. good local restaurants. perfect.

We couldn't have found a better place to stay in all of Paris. The location was very good: near to Gare du Nord, Metro. Laurent, the host, had charm and flair which was apparent in the décor - vintage and modern combined. The breakfasts were scrumptious with fresh home-made jams, pots of fruit with mint, great coffee and tea with beautiful classical music hardly audible in the background. What impressed most was the décor in our bedroom/en-suite and the ambience of the Nicolai Maharadjah diffuser. Bed and pillows was large and comfortable.

Les 3 Chambres is unique. Yummy French breakfasts lovingly prepared by the charming Laurent. Beautiful interiors and colours. Divine smelling Aesop hand wash and shower gel in the bathroom. A most luxurious 4 night stay in Paris. Superb restaurant recommendations and suggested walks in your Paris guide. Thank you Laurent. We didn’t want to leave. You have created a very special B&B.

Victoria, Brockenhurst

What a fantastic B&B. Wonderful location, quiet, very comfortable room and a good breakfast. Much better than a hotel as Laurent makes one so welcome. Best of all are his suggestions as to where to walk in Paris. His superb map and tips as to where to find the most interesting markets, restaurants, covered arcades and museums made our trip a delight. We were able to avoid most of the well worn tourist traps and experience the real Paris. Bravo!

Les3chambres is a great place to stay in Paris. The room was very comfortable and well furnished, the apartment is in a great location for exploring Paris, and Laurent, the host, is charming and attentive. The breakfasts are worth a special mention - typically French, but with personal touches, such as home-made jams, pastries and granola. This all helped to make a memorable short stay in Paris. We plan to return!

Fabulous from the moment we arrived, Laurent has a beautiful apartment that he shares with his guests and is a font of knowledge on the area. Breakfast was a delight, he even baked specially for one of us who has an egg allergy. The rooms were modern and comfortable with swish bathrooms and lots of modern gadgets. We will definitely return, thanks again Laurent

From the moment we arrived, we realised that we had found a special place to stay in Paris. Laurent provided such a warm, genuine welcome to his very comfortable and charming chambre d'hote. He is a truly fantastic host. He provides a really delicious breakfast including fresh fruit salads, homemade preserves and different daily home baked treats. Laurent is very willing to provide tips and advice on all aspects of Paris, including places to visit or eat, many of which would not necessarily be known to tourists. We look forward to our next visit!!

Brilliant, if its B and B in Paris you want then this is it.

Les3Chambres is very stylish and sumptuously decorated throughout, full of nice touches to delight guests. Laurent is a charming host with an impressive eye for detail. Speaking perfect English he is a mine of information and really keen to help his guests make the most of their stay. Highlights for us were the calm ambiance, stylish decor, large firm bed with very fine cotton sheets, wonderful breakfasts offering top quality, often home-made food, and Laurent's excellent service. This is a flawless exemplar of city-based B&B accommodation.

The neighbourhood

The apartment is set on a quiet street in the 9th arrondissement, between Montmartre and the Pigalle, and it feels authentically Parisian rather than touristy. If you’ve arrived by Eurostar, Gare du Nord is only a few hundred feet away. Ask Laurent about nearby bistros for dinner; his map gives you the inside scoop on sights, shops, markets and museums.

Local points of interest from Laurent Rougier

  • Tour the winding city streets by bike so you can admire Haussmann's elegant architecture - hire one of the Velib Paris bikes nearby.
  • From les3chambres to the Louvre, there is a very nice stroll through the Passages Couverts of Paris, the 19th century shopping arcades which will lead you to the Louvre and the Palais Royal in 40 minutes by walk!
  • About 15 minutes walk from les3chambres, Montmartre and its surrounding districts are certainly one of the most diverse parts of Paris. Crowds around Sacré-Cœur and the place du Tertre mingle with locals on café terraces in place des Abbesses.
  • The subway Line 7 and Cadet Subway station just 2 minutes walking distance from les3chambres.This line 7 is very convenient crossing Paris North to South stopping at Opera, The Louvre Museum, Châtelet Ile de la Cité and in the Latin Quarter.
  • Head east to Canal Saint Martin and skim stones like Amélie - the riverside is lined with trendy bars and restaurants (1.5km). A further 15-min walk is Buttes-Chaumont park, a former quarry with wonderful views of the city - perfect for a picnic!
  • Catch the metro to Censier-Daubenton (20 mins) and stroll along the charming, narrow Rue Mouffetard for shops, the bustling market and cafes. Pull up a chair at La Place Georges-Moustaki and sip aperitifs - it's a beautiful spot to watch the world go by.
