The Experience

The building that exists today, a three-storey house of impressive proportions with a turret at each end, was part of a much larger château, the centre of a vast vineyard. Now it lords over 31 hectares of finely landscaped parkland (13 of which are just for lavender), with dining terraces, boules pitch, two swimming pools, munching sheep and views to the Alps.

Honeymooners, families, the lazy and the lively: all will love it here. Apart from cookery lessons, wine tastings and electric-bike rentals, there’s tree climbing and paragliding, canoeing and windsurfing, riding and golf. And a sweet spa to recover in. Uncluttered bedrooms are full of lofty splendour and furnished in classic French style, their stone walls and great beams intact; bathrooms are state of the art.

Dinner is the highlight of the stay: beautiful food from fresh, local produce – the ‘menu du midi’ is great value.
