The
Experience

Surrounded by gorgeous gardens, the bastide sits large and square amid old outbuildings concealing perfectly converted gîtes. Bare stone façades and limestone trims under a Provençal roof set the tone for simple, fresh, uncluttered interiors: new limestone floors, white furniture, neutral tones and flashes of unexpected colour. Bedding is sumptuous, bathrooms fashionably funky, views from the beautiful pale blue pool glide pleasingly over rows of poplars and fields of lavender. Your wonderfully exuberant Belgian hostess gives convivial weekly dinner parties under the chestnut trees during high season. Divine.

Reviews

We stayed for a week in L’Atelier and wished it had been more. Apart from being a stylish and comfortable place to stay, there is a swimming pool, tennis and boules courts, bikes, and table tennis to keep you busy, and that’s before you set off to explore the delights of the Drome (Le Poet Laval, river walking in Toulourenc and the Thursday market in Nyons particularly recommended). After all that, a cool drink on a shady terrace followed by one of Francoise’s splendid dinners with your fellow guests completes the ingredients for a memorable stay, and naturally leaves you yearning to return.

Charles

We have just returned from a five night stay at La Moutiere with our two children, where we enjoyed Francoise's kind hospitality. Her high standards and attention to detail were second to none. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts and dinners around her lively table and relaxed in the immaculate garden surrounding the pool. We would certainly intend to return one day.
