Just an hour from Geneva airport, and tucked on the edge of the Sixt Passy National Reserve, this well-equipped chalet is delightful in the summer months too. Walkers and hikers will be hard pushed to know where to start with over 900 kilometers of marked trails; cyclists can pedal some favourite stretches of the Tour de France; adrenalin junkies can hurl themselves into white water rafting or parapenting. Of course you could just stretch out on one of the smart leather sofas with a good book, or wander out to the little hamlet of Vercland. Return to much comfort in a large open plan living/dining room with soaring criss-cross beams, jaw-dropping mountain views and a log fire for chillier evenings. Bedrooms are equally swish: snuggle in with pure goose down pillows and duvets, crisp white linen, waffle dressing gowns and slippers; en suite bathrooms have powerful showers and White Company goodies. An outdoor terrace with a hot tub is bathed in sunshine and there are table and chairs on the balcony for al fresco meals; a separate sitting room upstairs is perfect for children and the whole place is super for large families or groups of friends.
