The
Experience

High up in Savoie Mont Blanc – at 1900m to be precise – Mylène and Elizabeth’s luxury mountain retreat feels a world away from industrialised skiing –  but is only 10 minutes’ drive from Val d’Isère and Tignes. They are attentive, friendly hosts; passionate about their area and their combined skills of chef and mountain guide, and the rustic mountain chic of their careful restoration make staying here a real treat. You’ll want to linger over Mylene’s gourmet, regionally-inspired, dinners under soaring, raftered ceilings in the grand living space. Sample Savoyard wines and soak in the terrace hot tub under the stars; there’s a sauna and wood-fired hot tub too. Views over the Melezein Forest and Tignes’ dam are bewitching and bedrooms – each with a different timber: pine, walnut, larch and oak – very comfortable. You can head straight off on raquettes way beyond this quietly classic village, or be shuttled to the pistes. Come home to relax, in style, with fireside tea, perhaps a quick snooze before apéritifs. Oh and there’s a home cinema, and a library too. The Espace Killy and this chalet are remarkably lovely.

  • Ask Pascal, an excellent mountain guide, to climb or to do some mountaineering in our superb Alps, around the chalet few summits more than 3000 meters, to go to their top safely, book Pascal for a day or more: pascal-arpin.fr
  • Full qualified ski instructor and mountain leader, Elizabeth can advice you or organize for you a great skiing on the Espace Killy, 3 Valleys, Paradis ski Area or Saint Foy on piste or off piste.
  • Open the door and attach your sealskins! The Grande Sassière, Tsanteleina and Pointe de Picheru await your discovery just above the chalet.
  • Patrick Speziali, full qualified ski instructor is one of the best teachers of the area, knows every thing about the mountains. You want to improve your skiing? Book at: skispeziali.com
  • To help you relax, enjoy a sauna and an outdoor hot tub (bain norvégien), steam rising from the surface, where you can lounge six days of the week after a long day of skiing.
  • The library will also satisfy your curiosity on our beautiful Alps. There are plenty of quiet nooks to hide away and read peacefully or play a good game of cards.
