The Experience

You’ll feel at home in this farmhouse retreat whatever the weather. The cosy living room is perfect for rainy days; settle in with the bottle of wine waiting for you and relax in front of the wood burner, ready to be lit on chillier evenings.

Easy-going Sharon and Shaun have their own place in the grounds and may be around to greet you. There are plenty of walking and cycling trails from the door – borrow a bike or choose from four circular walks that lead to lovely open countryside. Come home to cook in the well-equipped kitchen or fire up the barbecue and eat out on the quiet and sunny terrace.

Fillièvres has a bakery and a couple of cafés, or drive to Hesdin (12km) for larger shops and restaurants. There are beautiful towns within an hour’s drive: the hilltop gem of Montreuil-sur-Mer, Amiens with its Gothic cathedral and the medieval town and seaside resort of Saint-Valery-sur-Somme. Reach historic battlefields in Agincourt and Crécy in half an hour and some family-friendly beaches in around 45 minutes.

Reviews

Excellent decor, lovely surprise welcome hamper that was a nice treat! So relaxing and beautiful surroundings. The bed was so comfy and so peaceful at night, sleeping was a joy! Be back soon!

Bryn, Maidstone

This was my second time at this amazing farmhouse and I loved it even more. This time Sharon the owner gave me cycle routes to some amazing restaurants for lunch, best food I have ever eaten in France. The farmhouse is well equipped to a very high standard with luxury products, extremely peaceful with several areas to sit and eat outside. It has been lovingly renovated with an abundance of original features and a homely feel. The welcome hamper was a very nice additional touch and Sharon was on hand for anything I needed help with. I will definitely return again next year.

Jenny, Surrey

The property is immaculate and with so many lovely luxe touches. It’s like a much better home away from home! Everything you could need has been thought of, and more. Gorgeous.

Rosemary, Strathaven

My husband and I stayed at Numero Vingt over the new years. When we arrived, on the night of the 31st, Sharon and Shaun had made the home super cozy with a warm fire and left us very thoughtful and appreciated welcome treats. The home is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the comforts of a beautiful farmhouse renovated to the highest quality. The kitchen is such a joy to cook in, that we actually did not end up going out to eat for dinner despite the fact that the area has many excellent restaurants and is perfect for food lovers. We highly recommend this home and look forward to returning!

My boyfriend and I had a lovely long weekend at La Fermette last week! It is so cosy inside particularly once we had lit the log burner. The location is great and very peaceful , we took a morning walk to the local bakery for fresh bread and drove to the larger town of Hesdin. I particularly love the high quality finish of the farmhouse and not to mention the lovely shower! Thank you for a wonderful stay, I look forward to returning!

Charlotte, St Albans

A very comfortable and ideally-located house in the Seven Valleys area. Charming owners who have lovingly restored the house and give a warm welcome. There are handy local amenities in the village and a thriving small town a short drive away. Several walking and cycling routes to be found in the vicinity.

Just an hour from Calais this converted famhouse is surrounded by beautiful countryside. You sense a lot of care and attention has been given to the interior design which is extremely tasteful and complements the building beautifully, the owners really have thought of everything. The super-king bed is particularly comfy. This is a perfect location for walkers and cyclists. If you do want to venture out, the lovely town of Hesdin is close by for it's restaurants and good wine.

I had the most amazing time in this beautifully restored farmhouse. It was so peaceful, lovely private garden and very tastefully furnished. Extremely well equipped kitchen, the owners have thought of everything you may need. I bought my electric bike with me and the owner Sharon was full of great local knowledge of the best cycle routes and places to stop for wonderful lunches. Definitely returning and would highly recommend.

A very stylish yet comfortable retreat in peaceful and picturesque surroundings. There is a lot of attention to detail, Shaun and Sharon have created a wonderful space that is well appointed with everything that will make their guests’ stay comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. The nearby market town of Hesdin, beautiful gardens, monuments and historical sites are all easily accessible and the village of Fillièvres is situated in stunning countryside that is ideal for walking and cycling. All in all a great place to stay!

BETTINA, AYLESFORD

Stayed here with some friends and my two young children in July. This place beat my expectations. Clean, cosy and beautiful decor. Super comfy bed++ It has a pretty enclosed garden which my children could run around and play in safely. I stayed in the annex part which was perfect for us & really spacious. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner outside in the garden each day. There’s a local bakery 5 mins walk away which does the best croissants and pastries you can find! Hesdin-a pretty french town is just 10 min drive away and the coast a great day trip from here. Can’t wait to return!

The neighbourhood

The house is on a quiet road in the village of Fillièvres, with houses on either side, a bank across the road and a pharmacy a few metres away. The village also has a bakery/convenience store and two cafés. Hesdin, 12km away, has several good restaurants, supermarkets and a market on Thursdays, with several buses a day between Hesdin and Fillièvres.

Introducing

The Collings's

Charming Sharon and Shaun live in Kent for most of the year. After visiting France for many years for family holidays and short breaks, they bought their French place in 2016 and set about carefully restoring the old farmhouse, which is now La Fermette at Numéro Vingt, with the help of local craftsmen. They will sometimes be staying in their barn on the property with their two dogs when they have guests; if not, you’ll collect your keys from a safe outside the farmhouse.
