The
Experience
Friendly Catherine lends you bikes – so pedal off to Wimereux, a sweet seaside town a mile down the road. Then return to a 18th-century house in the lee of a village church, its long elegant façade distinguished by tall white windows perfectly beshuttered. Fresh, spacious and uncluttered is the guest bedroom, with views to a beautiful front garden, and it’s a treat to stroll the rambling grounds, dotted with statues, punctuated by topiary. Wake to fresh local croissants and homemade jams; set off for the markets and shops of Boulogne… and a lovely lunch in the historic old town. The coastline is wild and wonderful.

We recently enjoyed a weekend away here, and thoroughly recommend this interesting B&B. The owners have spent a long time renovating the villa, which is delightful and very comfortable. Catherine was very accommodating with helping to book evening meals and general info about the local area. All in all, a place we hope to return to again.

2 adults + Beth age 12: Immediately at home; warm welcome (much appreciated-weather miserable), room delightful-had to summon resolve to forgo comfort and head out for a meal in Wimereux. Worth it- but glad to get back to elegant room and comfortable beds. Boulogne market on the saturday morning: pouring wet; full of good things but glad to get back to our room to luxuriate and read before another lovely meal in brasserie in W. Final trip on sunday was to the Old City- fascinating and beautiful. Paid homage to Dr Duchenne de Boulogne! Thanks ++ Catherine! Highly recommended!

As frequent visitors of high end B&Bs the Villa Sainte-Claire ranks among the very top. Housed in a most charming 18th century mansion with original boards and doors, the tastefully decorated rooms overlook the vast park, a bucolic treasure in the village center. We were lucky to have excellent weather conditions and could enjoy the excellent breakfast on the terrace. But, next to these 'material' qualities, there is the extraordinary hospitality of Catherine, which we will always remember. As, Tine, my Dutch wife said:"Wat een gastvrijheid!"

Our second stay in this beautiful house with lovely, welcoming owner, Catherine. 20 minute walk into Wimereux for evening meal, through a delightful country park alongside the river, only minutes from the house. On second night we ate at La Petite Brocante, a fabulous little restaurant in Wimille. Our room was spacious with lovely furnishings, huge, very comfortable bed and modern shower facilities. It overlooks the beautiful gardens which are quite extensive with plenty of outdoor seating. Wonderful breakfasts with fresh fruit, home made pastries, croissants, fresh bread etc.

We had a lovely stay for my birthday in this very elegant house. Lovely welcome from Catherine, who also provided a superb breakfast the next morning in her beautiful dining room. Our room could not be faulted, far better than any 4 star hotel. Catherine reserved a table for us at the very local "La Petite Brocante" restaurant (only minutes away) where we had an excellent meal in very convivial surroundings. All in all, a wonderful birthday weekend. We shall definitely return. Wimille is only 20 minutes walk from Wimereux, a delightful coastal town, so an ideal location for summer break.

The Villa St Clair is a paradise (and so convenient). The garden is a beautiful place. In addition, the hosts were so very kind and went far beyond their duties. I had a sprained ankle, and they took us to and from a restaurant, - and would not let us pay for this. Definitely go to the Villa St Clair!

An absolute gem of a place; beautifully quiet and restful and our hosts were lovely. Gorgeous breakfasts laid out on the table in the garden greeted us each morning. The town of Wimereux is nearby for a bit of bustle and a lovely beach and an even lovelier chocolate shop! Will return.

A really lovely house, everything you would expect from the photos. Catherine is a welcoming and charming host and her breakfasts were delicious with the freshly squeezed orange juice a real treat. The bedroom is most comfortable and tastefully decorated and offers total privacy. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the local restaurant and there is such a lot to do and see around the area. Definitely due a return visit.

We stayed a night on a last-minute 2-day trip to Calais (Eurotunnel do a good overnight deal) and felt like we'd had a week's holiday. Catherine replied to my late-night email first thing the next morning. Even more beautiful than in the photographs, we had a very comfortable room with typical old chateau doors and windows - everything restored by the owners, who were so welcoming and suggested watching the sunset in Wimereux and a lovely walk in the hidden Denacres valley. Delicious croissants and bread for breakfast with home-made jam. Our daughter loved their very friendly dog best of all!

This was the second time we had stayed here - first time was in the house itself - beautiful double room. Breakfast was delicious too, which is eaten downstairs. As it was cold, she had lit the fire - the owner is absolutely charming and really friendly. We borrowed the bikes in the afternoon to check out a restaurant for supper and then walked into town that evening. We had such a good stay that we visited again with our 15 year old daughter & her friend between Christmas & New Year where we stayed in the lodge. Very basic but warm & cosy. DVD player, games etc. Can't recommend enough.

We would certainly visit again, maybe next time try a night in the new "gypsy caravan"! Madame Debatte thought of everything and provided toiletries a plenty and even the necessary corkscrew! We had a lovely time!

We stayed with Catherine and Bernard for our first night in France. Their stunning house is just 5 minutes away from Wimereux and only a short 20 minutes journey from the tunnel. We were warmly welcomed by Catherine and shown to our very lovely, typically French bedroom which overlooked the gardens. As the local restaurant had decided to close unexpectedly that evening Catherine was so kind to drive us to a restaurant in Wimereux and Bernard picked us up. Such generous hospitality. The house is beautiful and the room was very comfortable. I would recommend a stay here and very good value.
