An 18th-century townhouse run with love and pride by Breton Aline and London-Scot Andrew. Their home has a friendly feel; the sitting room has grand piano, parquet and books, elegant bedrooms have good beds. They know western Loire well – it’s part of the old kingdom of Brittany and steeped in Celtic history. Continental breakfast is delicious: organic coffee, homemade jams and cakes, artisan bread and viennoiseries. The Loire à Vélo route is on the doorstep, Nantes is nearby; discover the vineyards of Muscadet and Coteau d’Ancenis, and relax with a glass of wine in the pretty tiered garden on your return – Andrew might entertain you with his bagpipes!

Andrew and Alin are delightful and welcoming hosts. Their house has been lovingly restored whilst maintaining the character and history. They have great knowledge and love of this area of the Loire. Be prepared for a sumptuous breakfast, with home baked cake and Scottish pancakes made and cooked by Andrew. A guest kitchen and comfortable lounge with books will complete your enjoyment.

What an absolutely delightful place to stay. The house, décor, ambience and welcome given by Andrew and Aline were second to none. A mixture of old and modernity combine in Loire-Sejours to provide a relaxed and perfect end to a long day of driving – even to Andrew providing a welcome pot of tea in the guest lounge on arrival. The short walk to Ancenis and the river reveals a plethora of gastro bars and restaurants. Breakfast was a pleasure, big freshly baked croissants, lots of different homemade jams, and a bottomless coffee pot! In short, our whole stay was an out-and-out delight.

Two weeks ago my husband and I spent a few days with Aline and Andrew in their beautiful house in Ancenis. We knew we were going to have a warm welcome even before we arrived because the emails we exchanged were so friendly and this proved to be the case. The house was utterly wonderful with a grand piano in the "salon" which is available for use by the guests. Our bedroom was spacious and although the house is hundreds of years old, the bathroom was modern and efficient. We also had use of the guests' kitchen which proved very useful one evening. Lovely people, lovely place.

It's not only the place, it's the people that really count. Andrew and Aline are generous welcoming hosts who 'go the extra mile' to make you feel at home. Comfortable spacious room (mine was the 'Garden' room), en-suite ,very clean ,newly decorated, and quiet at the back of the house. Very comfortable bed! Communal breakfasts around the large dining table with the other guests is relaxed, and enjoyable. Excellent quality breakfast (they even catered to my finicky diet while the other guests enjoyed home-made Scottish 'drop-scones' and jams). On-street parking, usually at the front door.

Aline & Andrew were super hosts throughout our 3 night stay. Great advice on where and what to visit. Breakfast was great especially Aline's homemade jams and Andrew's Scottish pancakes. A superbly renovated property with lots of character. We will return!!

Mike, Dudley

A warm and friendly welcome, lovely house with pretty garden, interesting town with bars and selection of restaurants nearby, and walks along the river. Clean and very comfortable accommodation, all very good value for money. Parking not a problem outside. Would love to go again.

Sylvia, Southampton

Lovely house with several peaceful outdoor and garden areas to sit in, if the weather permits. Also a spacious upstairs sitting room. Friendly, helpful hosts.

Russell, Carshalton

A lovely warm welcome from our knowledgeable hosts began a relaxing, two-night stay in extremely comfortable surroundings, with a delicious, generous breakfast to start our explorations of this attractive area. Highly recommended.

Elaine, Liverpol

Great stay. Beautiful house with all comforts. Very friendly owners who provided secure parking for our classic car. Superb breakfast - what more can we say?! Highly recommend

Gay, Dorchester

Excellent in every way. Charming, very helpful & well informed hosts who knew every square km between Nantes & Angers, & I have no doubt beyond. Accommodation & food superlative. A great stay & we shall return.

Warm welcome. Amazingly comfortable and spacious room. Helpful info on dinner locations. Best breakfast ever!!! in a congenial atmosphere. Garden delightful on a sunny morn. Kind and gracious host AND hostess. Recommend it to everyone.

We have only praise and admiration for the way Andrew and Aline run their excellent bed and breakfast. They are so hospitable, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived until we left. The room and the breakfast were very good and their willingness to welcome us into their lovely garden for a few hours relaxation was greatly appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Thank you.

Andrew & Aline's hospitality was absolutely wonderful. They couldn't have done more to welcome us & look after us after a very long drive from the south. Our room in their beautiful house was spacious & comfortable & breakfast a delight. Also the addition of delicious Scottish pancakes made by Andrew! Sadly we could only stay one night but hope to return & explore the area further - & have a round of golf with Andrew! Thank you.

Very welcoming hosts and beautifully restored house in pretty town, easy parking and great restaurants within walking distance. Bedrooms and bathrooms really spacious and clean. Delicious breakfast which included sweet potato and cranberry bread. will definitely stay there again if visiting the area.

Andrew and Aline couldn't have been better hosts, from their local advice to lending us bikes and glasses and a corkscrew to enjoy wine in their beautiful garden. This was a wonderful base to spend three nights enjoying all that the Loire has to offer.

Although I only stayed for one night as a stopover on my journey I was very impressed by this b&b. Andrew and Aline were excellent hosts, helpful and welcoming and the room was comfortable and well appointed. The fact that all the rooms were full even in late November shows that Andrew and Aline have got things just right!
