The Experience
Ex-restauranteurs Michel and Geraldine have created a haven of peace here. The food is excellent and nearly everything is grown in their veg patch in the luscious garden among the quince trees and wild orchids.
Wake up and gather round the sociable dining table or on the terrace for fresh fruit, homemade jams, bread and local honey. Come evening dine on asparagus with beurre blanc, salade de fromage and finish with Cremet d’Anjou with homegrown strawberries and local wine.
Children will be happy too with a swing to play on and the garden to explore. Bring bikes and head down the track to nearby Baugé en Anjou (7km); drive 30 minutes and admire the impressive views from Chateau de Saumur. Head back to comfortable rooms with fresh flowers in the vine-covered cottage.

During our several visits over many years we have always been very impressed by our experiences. Always a warm welcome, comfortable rooms, excellent meals prepared from produce from the garden, neighbouring producers the local market. We usually manage to stay more than one night so we can savour all that is offered by hosts Geraldine and Michel. Looking forward to returning to Les Bouchets yet again for another relaxing stay.

Starting July 2004, each visit is a delight as Geraldine and Michel are superb hosts in offering very comfortable rooms and great dinners featuring local and Michel's garden products and breakfasts. Our fidelity is testimony to our constant satisfaction compared to other B&B. The house and the garden are a haven. We also recommend their B&B as a base to discover some of the Loire Valley.

We received such a warm welcome from Geraldine and Michel. The place is a haven of peace with the veg patches in the garden, wild flowers, and views overlooking the endless countryside. I'd love to stay here to recharge the batteries and experience the real France.

We were seduced by the charm of this place, nested in the countryside in the middle of a garden whose produce is used for the table d’hôtes – a table d’hôtes worthy of the greatest table d’hôtes but in true simplicity and conviviality. Géraldine and Michel welcomed us in their beautiful and comfortable house, located just steps from the Loire châteaux. How would you not want to come back?
