The Experience

Roses thrive in a circular bed near the doorway of this pretty 15th-century farm cottage with sweeping views. Walk straight in to a spacious, sunny living room (windows on both sides) with Welsh ash floorboards, a double sofa and deep armchairs covered in throws, a cosy wood-burner for chilly evenings, contemporary furniture, rugs on the floor and original artworks on the walls, some by the owners. French windows open onto a terrace: enjoy your coffee and croissant here each morning and revel in the views. A light and bright kitchen has all you need for holiday cooking. Whitewashed double bedrooms are on the third floor: find sandblasted beams, antique trunks and French armoires; the second floor mezzanine has a small sitting room for escapees with a book. There are two bathrooms – downstairs is a modern shower and upstairs – mind your head – lots of exposed beams and a freestanding claw foot tub. Wander the pretty garden, jump in a cool swimming lake nearby, visit Le Mans for exciting racing, pick up food and antiques in local markets. Return to peace and quiet.

Simply perfect for an idyllic hideaway holiday. Spacious and stylish interior, excellent kitchen facilities, comfortable bedrooms and to top it all off a large private garden with old oak tree and swing.

Fabulous holiday cottage. Relaxing, chilled and peaceful which was a real treat. The cottage is clean and comfortable., it ticked all my boxes. I took the night ferry across to France and then a lovely calm drive down to the cottage. I'll be back. Many thanks

A beautiful place in an extremely peaceful hilltop situation with far reaching views to all sides. A very comfortable well equipped house in which to get away from it all (with benefit of WIFI though no TV). Situated near Saulges with nearby villages on the river Erve for lovely walks and restaurants. The medieval town of Sainte Suzanne at 10 minutes with Le Mans 25 minutes. The house, barns and large grounds (6 acres) together with the pond are magical. Wildlife abounds. The nearby house managers, Debra and David, could not have done more to ensure that our holiday was a success.
