The
Experience
Enthusiastic new owners at this handsome Georgian house, where Pugin liked to stay – maybe en route from Rosslare just minutes away. Chris and Dublin-born Aishling are pouring energy into their new project; working on a more contemporary feel for the large, light bedrooms – with good bathrooms. Views are of the impressive parkland – some trees are as old as the house. Breakfast can be arranged early if you’ve a ferry to catch. A group could take over the whole house and use the dining room, otherwise head for good nearby eateries. Blow your cobwebs away on the local beaches, visit Wexford, New Ross and Waterford Crystal.

Location
The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from Chris Tampsett
- Churchtown House was built circa 1703 and is a protected structure of historical significance. For most of it's lifetime it was a farmhouse but has been used as country house accommodation since 1992
- Wake up in the morning and hear...... absolutely nothing. Peace and tranquility are the keywords here at Churchtown House. All except for those pesky rooks who like to do a little formation flying display most summer evenings at about dusk.
- Churchtown House is just 5 minutes drive from Rosslare Europort as well as some of the best beaches you could ever wish to walk on. Full of families enjoying the 5 kilometers of sand in summer and perfect to blow the cobwebs away on winter walks.
- Churchtown House is set in 8.5 acres of land perfect for dog walking or just relaxing... Watch out for Tagi the white goat, Flash and Douglas the tortoises, our good friend Niall's bees and hopefully soon a couple of English Springer Spaniel puppies
- Although Chris is English he has a fascination and sympathy with Irish history. If you have a bit of time to kill, ask him about the famine or perhaps his favourite subject the 1798 rebellion in which Wexford was a key player or maybe the 1916 rising
- sic, An island built on coal and surrounded by fish. Hmm, not a lot of coal around here. BUT some of the very best and freshest seafood you will ever eat. Normally in Wexford the fish on your plate this evening was swimming this morning. fantastic
