The Experience

You’re sitting on top of a hill so the views are superb from the terrace with its smart loungers; bring a book or a newspaper and you may not stir for hours. Owner Luigi is proud of his breakfasts which change with the seasons and include baked cakes, fruit tarts, fresh local ricotta and other cheeses, hams made up in focaccia sandwiches and always fresh fruit.

It’s a quiet, grown-up sort of place where you shan’t be disturbed, there are hammocks to laze in, drinks from the fridge in reception and oil from the olives that surround you to taste, or buy. Bedrooms, two with private terraces and all with views, are light and comfortable and you can make yourself teas. Walk to the nearest beach, Captain Cook, in 15 minutes, or take the shuttle.

This is the wild side of the Sorrentine Peninsula and hiking is magnificent, as are the views, all the way down to the Point Campanella and the sparkling turquoise sea. Return to much peace.

Accommodation

Reviews

Casa Clementina is the ideal place where to plant yourselves for at least a long weekend and experience the other more authentic side of this world-famous coastline between Sorrento and Amalfi. Your enthusiastic native host, Luigi, knows all the backroad secrets (try some of those hikes with soaring sea views) and runs his tidy B&B with true passion and efficiency.

Location

The neighbourhood

You're 10-minutes from Massa Lubrense for shops and a bit of bustle, but the feeling is still rural. Sorrento is one of the world's most stunning coastlines, so head out to great fish restaurants like Mary's Beach for Spaghetti alle vongole veraci, grilled swordfish, the freshest seafood. Take a boat trip to the islands or drive 15-minutes to Sorrento train station for city visits.

Local points of interest from Luigi Gargiulo

  • Casa Clementina loves genuine and quality food and uses only the freshest, organic, local and 0 km products. Every morning it offers the best products of its territory: homemade cakes, biscuits, farmer's eggs, and biological jams, along with seasonal fruit.
  • The Punta Campanella hike is a walk back into an ancient time: along the trail there are remnants of old temples where ancient Greeks and Romans worshiped the Goddess Athena. Worth to mention also the unforgettable views of Capri and the Bay of Ieranto.
  • The picturesque Bay of Ieranto is truly a must destination when visiting the Sorrento Coast, a sacred and evocative place, which shows the most savage and enchanted side of the coast and the sea, is one of the most crystalline and clear of the zone.
  • The Crapolla fjord is one of the most beautiful nature trails on the coast. A suggestive place between greenery and breathtaking views! The beauty of this fjord is in the crystalline water of sea and the wild nature that gives you indescribable emotions.
  • You can escape the Mediterranean heat for a day and go relaxing to the baths of The Regina Giovanna, where you can admire not only scenic Roman ruins, but you can also swim in the bright clear cerulean water of the natural pool at the bottom of the path.
  • "In just 20 minutes, either by y private boat or ferry, you can visit the famous Island of Capri and live an unforgettable holiday ! You can fancy a swim in the blue grotto, relax in the crystal waters of Capri, and admire the legendary Faraglioni rocks.
