The Experience
Down the track to a winery in a valley where farming and nature work in harmony and the comforts are 21st century. There’s a farmhouse, a barn-restaurant, a biodynamic winery and 12 bedrooms with a communal sitting room above. With a host of chickens, plenty of cats and kittens, and staff chatting and laughing in the kitchens, it’s impossible not to unwind. Bedrooms, well-equipped with TVs, air con and double glazing, are furnished in spare modern style – good beds, chunky ceilings, a few antiques – and a lawn runs down to the reed-fringed bio lake. Take a dive into its eco-fresh waters – no better start to the day! Best of all is the food, regional, seasonal, organic, so good that food-and-wine tours book in. Young friendly staff serve a monthly-changing menu of five set plates: generous, delicious and you cannot say no. Breakfasts are communal, served in a charming room in the old farmhouse; in summer, you take to the terraces and gorge on the views. Hiking and biking is what it’s about in the Parco Regionale dell’ Abbazia di Monteglio, and if you stay here, the bikes are thrown in.

Apart from the beautiful setting, the absolutely amazing food and the delicious 17 varieties of biodynamic wines (I tasted 7 of them and took 4 back with me!), what impressed me most was the good humour, smiles and genuine interest for me to feel at home that I received from every single one of the staff I met during my stay. This is a place I will return to for sure.

t is a very special place, fabulous views, wines and food. The biolake is incredible and relaxing to sit by/swim in day or night. Dinner on the terrace is wonderful. The staff are so helpful they are also passionate about their vineyard and it's special story. I would recommend it for all ages. it is a good area for visiting Bologna and Modena too for the day.It is a wonderful place of peace and beauty to return to to enjoy the fab views, lake and dinner.

Location
The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from Mario Pirondini
- Corte d'Aibo is located inside a Natural Protected Area, The Monteveglio Abbey Regional Park. It is a fantastic place for hikes or bike tours.
- In the nearby is easy to find activities to do, like horse riding, trekking, biking, or gastronomy tours, etc..
- The organic lake represent a unique place to relax being in touch with nature.
- Modena, UNESCO site for its Romanesque architecture, and Bologna, one of the most attractive northern Italy town, are only 30 minutes drive far from Corte d'Aibo
- Moreover, Corte d'Aibo is the perfect starting point to explore the beautiful area of Bologna's and Modena's Appenino, incredibly rich in characteristic middle-age villages, art and natural landscape and wildlife. And fantastic food, of course!!! :)

We stayed at Corte d’Aibo for 3 nights before moving on to Tuscany. Our rooms were lovely and airy, if a little dark, with beautiful bathrooms and wonderful linen towels. Staff were cheerful and attentive, and the food served in the restaurant imaginative and delicious. The natural pool was a lovely place to dip into, although not so great for swimming and the gardens and views were spectacular - so relaxing. I would definitely recommend.
