The
Experience

Look down from your pristine windows on the Roman Baths of Caracella. Who would guess such a discreet leafy street would exist in the heart of Rome?

The gates to this 1930s’ mansion open to a big illuminated courtyard, with reception at ground level and a Deco stair to lavish suites above. Recline on sleek sofas, sleep on memory beds, and enjoy the modern art. Manager Flavia takes care of everything and pampers you to the hilt – which includes continental breakfast delivered to your room.

Borrow a bike and navigate Rome’s seven hills. Or take leisurely strolls from the door to Circus Maximus, the Arch of Titus, the Roman Forum, and Palentine Hill. Then cross the Tiber to cobbled Trastevere, the boho chic part of town, where little shops, restaurants and bars abound.

Reviews

As a longtime Roman resident, I had never known about the hidden pocket of residential streets between the Caracalla Baths, Pyramid and Circus Maximus. Gracious Flavia welcomes guests as friends and carelessly and professionally takes care of every whim. Generous and luminous bedrooms with picture windows overlook Caracalla park with its ruins peeking out from Cypresses and umbrella pines. An indescribable magic moment is had watching the sunset from the perch on your private balcony, followed by the evening illumination of before your eyes!

Location

The neighbourhood

A unique and privileged neighbourhood from which to explore the city. This residential street is walking distance from some of the most famous sites in the world, not least the Colosseum - and the ruins of Caracalla Baths are just behind. They operated from AD212 to 530, attracting 7,000 bathers a day. The award-winning Rose Gardens (at their best in May and June) are a 15-minute stroll, as are the bars, restaurants and clubs of the delightfully creative Testaccio quarter.

Local points of interest from Alessandra De Lorenzo

  • Caracalla's Bath, Circo Maximo an Colosseo - 10 minutes walk from Pepoli9. Just close to the main attraction in a greenery part of Rome.
  • the Orange Garden with the Priory gates Keyhole both within 15 minutes walk. 2 sites really suggestive you don't have to loose!
  • Food Market Testaccio to taste roman flavors and the Macro Testaccio museum inside the slaughterhouse, both within 20 minutes walk
  • famous is the Rome's non-Catholic cemetery just near the Piramide, in Testaccio quarter - 10 minutes walk

Introducing

Alessandra De Lorenzo

In 2008 the owner and her family began work on the transformation of this stately 1930’s mansion into a guesthouse. They live in one half themselves. With flair, Alessandra has introduced a retro-contemporary décor, enhanced by a collection of rotating modern art.
