The Experience

Stroll down an impeccable street to join the locals at the atmospheric Trattoria della Barchetta dal 1924. This is high-end Prati on the smart side of the Tiber – yet a 15-minute walk from the bustle and pizzazz of the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon.

Step in to a small reception area on the first floor of a 19th-century palazzo. One large lofty apartment has become two… an intimate, stylish, serene pair of suites with faded ceiling frescoes and enormous French windows. Bed linens are luxurious, kitchens chic, and beautiful floor tiles remain.

Rome’s foodie restaurant scene is growing. Set off on a Prati Food Tour for the best of the city, including the famous Pizzarium. Visit the Borgo Passetto on a summer’s night: a cobbled walkway for the Pope, a safe passage from the Vatican to the Castel Sant’Angelo. Peek into the nearby houses; marvel at St Peter’s dome.

Accommodation

Reviews

Guendalina's carefully renovated suites are the perfect pied-a-terre base from which to literally walk everywhere in center Rome. You have the advantage of being on the other side of the Tiber, less touristy and filled with authentic local restaurants and shops. In your stylish and practical suite for 2 or 4 , you can pop out for a coffee in the morning and rub elbows with the neighbours.

Location

The neighbourhood

Stroll down Prati’s tree-lined shopping boulevards with their grand ‘Umbertino’ buildings to the Palace of Justice on Piazza Cavour – Rome’s hotspot for lawyers. Stock up at the Mercato, amble to the river for an aperitivo, or dance the night away on the floating Lian Club. Across the bridge beats the city’s old heart... follow the trail of spectacular fountains; soak up 3,000 years of history.

Local points of interest from Guendalina Parboni

  • VUOTOPIENO is in a strategic position; on foot you can reach the Vatican, Castel Sant Angelo and the most beautiful points of the center. The street is quiet and offers plenty of places to eat and drink nearby..
  • La BARCHETTA is a historic restaurant on this side of the Tiber, the name is in memory of the small boat that Toto used to transport people from one side of the Tiber to the other.
  • I also recommend the pizzeria La BERNINETTA located in our neighbourhood, which is also historic and pizza is excellent.
  • In renovating VUOTOPIENO, the original floors and also the ceiling's decorations have re-emerged. They were once the principal floors, so they have large windows and vaulted ceilings.
  • By simply crossing the bridge you will find many restaurants, for example SANTOVINO is excellent for the variety of its cellar.
  • If you want to have an aperitif or spend an evening on the Tiber bank, minutes from VUOTOPIENO is the LIAN RomaMusic, Spirits & Bistrot. Follow us on Instagram to learn about the latest curiosities
