The Experience
On the banks of Lake Como, a charming, family-run B&B villa simply modernised and redecorated with a laid-back feel.
Breakfast on homemade bread, cakes, savoury offerings and jams. For the hungrier Ty prepares a different menu of wholesome food every day, while Paola is “mistress of desserts”. Eat inside and admire the ever-changing local artwork lining the walls or outside with lake views on the terrace that juts onto the water.
Visit gardens and villas, take boat tours to Isola Comacina or day trips to St Moritz and the Engadine. The ferries are a step away. The magnificent Lake Como is quite the neighbour – walk out the door and you’re on the Greenway Walking Path between Cadenabbia and Lolonno. Start or end your day’s excursions with traditional Italian cuisine at Ristorante Belle Isole’s outdoor terrace.

We have visited this delightful B and B and restaurant many times since 2007. Paola, Ty and now Giacomo always make us welcome. They will help you with information on the area and Ty’s daily menus of freshly cooked food are of excellent quality and originality. Everything is served with care, wit and charm and Ty will happily discuss the origins of his recipes.

A delightful experience. Our hosts were so welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed every moment of our three-night stay out and about during the daytime discovering the most famous sites of Lake Como and coming 'home' in the evenings to this warm and creative atmosphere.

Our first visit to Italy. La Marianna was charming, clean and comfortable. Paolo and Ty are a delight, friendly, helpful and informative; nothing was too much trouble and Ty's meals were delicious. Would definitely like to return some day.

This is our fifth time at La Marianna and it never disappoints. Again Paola looked after us so well - nothing is too much trouble. We were fortunate to have fantastic weather so every day we ate breakfast and dinner on the terrace. Do try Ty's cooking as it is excellent. His interesting choice of local ingredients, used with such flair, is not to be missed. La Marianna is small and beautiful - catch it while you can!

Location
The neighbourhood
You’re well placed for adventure - within 20 minutes you’ll reach Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio, Tremezzina and Lenno - all worthy of exploration. Head to Al Punt to swim, sunbathe or rent a canoe; reward yourself after with a drink at the bar. Hikers will be more than happy; the best views can be found on the San Martino walk - it is quite the hike but the ascent is peppered with picnic benches.
Local points of interest from Paola Cioccarelli
- Villa Carlotta botanical gardens, just 1km from the hotel, offers a special discount to our guests. There are spectacular Azaleas blooming from the end of April start of May!
- Take a lovely walk from the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie of S.Martino up to Griante. The walk takes about an hour, and you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lake.
- There's a daily ticket on the boat to visit the villages in the center of the lake: Bellagio,Varenna, Menaggio, and Lenno. The ferry port is only 300m from the hotel.
- Easy to go visit Como by bus,but the best is come back by boat. The slowly boat takes 2 hours but it's the best way to see the villages and the private villas (including the George Clooney one) from the lake.
- Free entry at the swimming pool of Lido in Cadenabbia for a very relaxing day or just cross the road and go swimming in to the lake ,we suggest to do that in the Summer morning before breakfast
- Take the funicolar from Argegno to Pigra and from there walk back to Cadenabbia trough the greenway of the lake , a walk to discover amazing landscapes

Introducing
Paola Cioccarelli
Charming Paola and Ty are the perfect hosting duo - Paola brings warmth, wit and charm whilst Ty cooks up an absolute storm in the kitchen. They both boast expansive local knowledge; ask them to assist in designing your daily itinerary. Their doors have been open for guests for years and it shows; they’ve thought of everything to make your stay oh so easy.
This was originally just going to be a stop-over for us, but the welcome we received, plus the amazing food. Not just good food, but food with heart and soul. We shall be going to stay more often. The restaurant on the lake is wonderful, with astounding views and small pebbly beaches either way within short walking distance. Worth a visit now, they have very good practice in these Covid times, with minimal compromise.
