The Experience

This modern hotel stands alone with stunning views of Lake Como against a backdrop of mountains. Giovanni and Isabella live ten minutes away and when they’re not here their staff are equally warm and welcoming.

The vast selection at breakfast is a treat: fresh fruit salad, bread, jams, cold meats and cheeses, and in summer, there’s the option of a self-service buffet lunch. Sit out on the terrace overlooking the pool with an aperitivo from the bar; walk to the agriturismo for a supper of good local dishes.

Find a sunny spot next to the pool or in the garden or book a treatment in the spa. Borrow a bike for a few hours and explore the lakeside path, discovering other small villages along the way. Outdoor adventure enthusiasts can sail, horse-ride, or mountain climb, or you can take the ferry at Cadenabbia to visit other lakeside towns.

The neighbourhood

The nearest town, Gravedona, is a 20-minute walk and has shops, restaurants and a twice-monthly market in summer. A nearby agriturismo restaurant offers dishes made with home-grown produce and excellent wines – hotel guests get 10% off the bill. Giovanni can organize guides for adventure sports such as mountain biking and climbing, or you can explore small towns such as Mossanzonico, Dongo or Musso along the lakeside path. Drive 30 minutes to Cadenabbia and catch the ferry boat with or without your car to other lakeside towns, or you can even drive to St Moritz in just over an hour and a half.

Giovanni Gotti

Giovanni and Isabella were both born and raised in the area and brought up their three (now grown-up) children here too. Isabella has hotels and hospitality in her blood as her parents had a small hotel when she was growing up; she was a high school language teacher and is fluent in four languages. Giovanni's family have lived in the area for generations, although he left Italy as a young man and spent 15 years in Canada before coming back and falling in love with Isabella. He worked in many different fields over the years before venturing into hotel and B&Bs.
