The
Experience

This distinctive villa dating from 1697 is on the edge of a quiet town on the tip of Lake Como. Giovanni and Isabella live in their own quarters on the second floor and give you keys to come and go as you please.

Breakfast includes bread, cereals, jams, yogurts, cold meats and a selection of cheese and fruit. Read or watch TV in the comfy seating area in your room, choose a bottle of wine from Giovanni’s list or chill your own in the mini-fridge. An informal lounge has books, cards and a chessboard, and the rooms open out onto or overlook the swimming pool.

Stroll five minutes for shops, cafes and a good traditional Italian restaurant. Cycle or walk along the lakeside path, drive 30 minutes to Cadenabbia to catch the ferry to other lakeside towns; adventure sports include mountain climbing, biking, paragliding, sailing.

Reviews

As you enter the large cool reception area, you can not help but look up at the hand painted al freso ceiling painting. Wow...This is only the beginning. Villa Annamaria is the perfect quiet oasis for exploring Lake Como or indeed taking full advantage of the many sporting activities on your door step. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable and you want for nothing. Don't forget to have dip in the small pool, or enjoy an evening aperitivo in the shaded courtyard. Take full advantage of Giovanni and Isabella's local advise which is next to none. Enjoy!

Location

The neighbourhood

You’re a five-minute walk from the little lakeside village of Domaso. The nearest town is Gravedona, 20 minutes’ walk or five minutes’ drive. Here you will find one of Lake Como's most famous Roman churches, Santa Maria del Tullio, as well as restaurants and a twice-monthly market in summer. Giovanni can organize mountain biking and climbing and there’s a sailing school nearby.

Introducing

Giovanni Gotti

Giovanni and Isabella were both born and raised in the area and brought up their three (now grown-up) children here too. Isabella has hotels and hospitality in her blood as her parents had a small hotel when she was growing up; she was a high school language teacher and is fluent in four languages. Giovanni's family have lived in the area for generations, although he left Italy as a young man and spent 15 years in Canada before coming back and falling in love with Isabella. He worked in many different fields over the years before venturing into hotel and B&Bs.
