The Experience

This 18th-century house is made up of two residences and an annexe, each with its own outside area, so families or groups of friends will be able to come together for sociable meals yet retreat to their space when they want. All has been restored with wonderful attention to detail; original features have been retained and modern comforts incorporated.

Lap up the fabulous lake views, discover plunge pools and a landscaped garden with olive trees, roses, a table large enough for 14 and a vegetable plot – help yourself to salad, tomatoes, courgettes and herbs. There’s a basement with a pool table and TV room too, and you’ll find a chilling bottle of prosecco as well as tins of cake and biscuits.
Mezzegra, a five-minute drive down the hill, has a bakery, a good lakeside restaurant and small supermarket. Book a private tour on a boat; walk to Lenno in 15 minutes for restaurants or the ferry to Como, Bellagio and Varenna; visit the famous botanical garden and museum at Villa Carlotta.

Villa Beatrice is the perfect place for a big family/friends get away. You will get the wow factor both in and outdoors. I could stay all day in the luxurious bed and admire the stunning lake views but what a shame when you can read in the garden, cool off in the plunge pool or walk the "Greenway" foot path which passes directly in front of your door. It's perfect! Thank you for a lovely visit.

The neighbourhood

If you would like some easy exercise you can join the Greenway walking path, which passes in front of the house; the Tremezzina mountain bike route is only two minutes away. Lenno is a pleasant 15-minute walk along the Greenway walking path and has a bigger supermarket and public beaches where you can sunbathe, swim and picnic, as well as a Lido di Lenno, where you can rent sun loungers and enjoy for the best pizza in the area whilst looking out over the Golfo Bay. Trattoria Santo Stefano, in Lenno’s main square, and the lakeside Ristorante Albergo Lenno offers outstanding cuisine and wine, and La Fabbrica Del Gelato is the place to head to for excellent ice cream.

Maciej Helman

Having travelled extensively Maciej and Beata have now settled on Lake Como, where their hearts are most at home. As soon as they saw the villa in 2018 they knew they wanted to take on the challenge of restoring it. Now that it is ready for guests they are off on their travels again but they adore sharing their home with guests when they’re not there. Your contact is Karen – she helped with the restoration work and is on hand to help you if you need her.
