The Experience

Drive through patchwork fields and up a winding road to two stone and brick houses standing side by side. Sabine and her architect husband have created two apartments in each using natural materials such as stone, wood and travertine marble, and furnished them with handmade décor and vintage market finds.

Sabine is warm and generous, popping by daily to make sure her guests have everything they need. Find your fridge stocked with local goodies, help yourself to vegetables and herbs from the garden or fruit from the orchard, and eat out on your shaded patio.

Borrow e-bikes and explore the surrounding countryside, or sample wines at Cantina Broccanera, 15 minutes away. The immense Frasassi Caves are half an hour’s drive, the unspoilt coastline of Parco del Conero is an hour away. Return for a swim in the infinity pool, which is set in a garden filled with aromatic plants – lavender, rosemary, thyme, jasmine, rose.

Reviews

Sabine's warm and generous nature glows everywhere from the design of the soft and pleasingly simple interiors, her handcrafted rugs and crocheted linen borders, her perfumed garden, demonstrating an acute attention to detail and to an eco-sustainable stay. Choose to either lounge around the poolside accompanied by birdsong and formidable valley views or tour the interesting off-track country

Location

The neighbourhood

The immediate area around the house is farmland with the occasional house or agricultural centre, making for a scenic spot for hiking and biking. Villages are few and far between, with the nearest place to stock up, Locanda dei Ribelli, a 10-minute drive; the nearest town, Arcevia, which has a cluster of trattorias and shops, is 20 minutes away.

Introducing

Sabine Telser & Konrad Rieper

Sabine and Konrad live five minutes away with their two children. They are originally from the Alto Adige mountain region in northern Italy and fell in love with the Marche on a trip here many years ago – they bought the property soon after and began work on it. Sabine has a creative flair and you can purchase many of her handmade items, including yarn rope rugs, natural soaps and bags.
