The Experience

Wind your way up from the Adriatic at Ancona, to minimalist perfection perched on a hill. Float in the pool, pick the lavender, nod off in a hammock slung between the trees. Harmony prevails in colour and form, there’s a ‘sunset bench’ high on the hill, and you’ll never, ever tire of the view.

Frank and Ariana have realised a dream, to transform a sleepy hamlet (‘borgo’) into a place of warmth, luxury and calm. An old barn has become a poolside spa, with a sauna, a hammam and a lovely clubhouse upstairs.

Follow the winding road to hilltop Arcevia, whose cafes, shops and palazzos are a 15-minute drive. Enjoy lunch at the little Ristorante Pinocchio. Or head off for the sands of Senigallia (45km), and swims and seafood straight from the ocean. Return to your loft-style apartment (or secluded villa) and relax on your balcony with a glass of Verdicchio di Jesi.

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing slice of paradise with us! We have had an awesome time here and can´t wait to visit again! Wishing you all the very best,

Milford family, Tunbridge Wells

Thank you so much for a most relaxing holiday, location, the apartment, the pool, the sunset bench, Boccia court, so much attention to detail. We have never enjoyed a holiday so much, and understand why everyone returns. Thank you for all the lovely things you spoil us with every day. It has been an amazing experience and we cannot wait to return.

Nette + Ben, Hamburg

Thank you once again for a lovely holiday. Form the moment the rusty ( I know its corten) metal gates opened and we drove up the hill, we started to relax! Two weeks later we sadly finished another wonderful holiday with you. See you again very soon!

Chris and Family, Oxfordshire

A wonderful stay Thank you another wonderful stay! As always, we appreciate your fantastic hospitality and the beautiful setting. Always a prefect and relaxing holiday. The only disappointment is that we didn’t have the sense to book for two weeks! We cannot wait to be back at the Borgo next September - for two weeks! Until then,

Laura, London

Ariane and Frank have everything dialed in at this stunning oasis. Fantastic views, with a heated infinity pool, steam and sauna. We had Apartment 1 which was close to all the facilities. Frank is a designer and his talent shines throughout the property. My husband and I are experienced travelers and BT is one of the most impressive places we’ve stayed at. The Marche offers stunning views. A week at BT was the perfect way to start off our month in Italy. Thank you Ariane and Frank.

Since 2015 we stayed numerous times at the Borgo, and we will always love to come back! This time, after a 4-week stay, we are really very tranquillo at the Borgo! Thanks Ariane, Frank and Tintin for creating such a perfect, wonderful and tranquillo holiday place! We love it. See you another time!

Arjo, Bunde

The more often we visit, the more thankful we are for this brilliant location, for your warm hospitality. Can't wait to return in Summer 2022.

Doris, Vienna

Dreaming of this beautiful and tranquil heaven in Italy. Dreaming is all we can do at the moment, I cannot wait to travel again, can't wait to get back to the amazing views of the Borgo poo. Can't wait to watch the sun go down up on the sunset bench. Can't wait to enjoy once again Frank and Ariane's hospitality, their thoughtful touches, the best homemade jam ever, the olive oil, and the cakes, oh these sweet treats! Thank you so much for these memories!

Thank you for a wonderful week at Borgo Tranquillo. We've had the most amazing time. Some highlights to name just a few: The spectacular view over the rolling hills of Le Marche. The days spent relaxing by the brilliant pool The treats left in the Clubhouse (especially the most delicious lemon drizzle cake) Working our way through the many recommendations of places to visit and eat, The fantastic apartment which had everything we could have needed. Frank and Ariane are amazing hosts. The care and attention to details around Borgo Tranquillo really shows how fantastic a place it is to stay!

Laura, London

This place is just amazing! We had the time of our lives and will definitely be back. Frank and Ariane should be very proud of what they have achieved its unique, and a heaven from the crazy world most of us live in now.

Louise, London

Thank you for creating Borgo Tranquillo, thank you for creating this wonderful relaxing atmosphere, thank you for being you, dear Ariane, Frank and Tintin. We cannot wait to visit again.

Elena, London

It was the coldest May, but the warmest stay…It was a treat to be guests in Ariane’s and Frank’s Borgo Tranquillo. And the name is perfectly chosen: what a quiet and peaceful place! Neatly arranged, every detail is thought of. Perfect to relax or discover wineries – since it was not only a cold week in May but also a very wet one. Follow your hosts recommendations for restaurants or any other venue you may visit – they know their way around. And they got good taste – not only for interior design. The only disadvantage is that the Borgo is sold out most of the time. Unfortunately!

Albert, Munchen

The Borgo is just as close to the perfect holiday as it can get! Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality - we will be back for our 7th visit! Ciao for now!

Erik, Frankfurt/Hongkong

Guests will certainly be impressed by the minute attention to detail and to the fact that every possible whim has been already pre-arranged. Frank and Ariane are superb hosts who offer a place of soothing regeneration, difficult to leave, and at the same time in an area full of interesting and authentic off-track exploration.

What an amazingly beautiful place you have created in Borgo Tranquillo! We´ve had a wonderful week and are already planning our next visit. We will miss the gorgeous pool, Clubhouse and all of its goodies (thanks for the gluten free cakes and biscuits and for all the fruit and veggies and eggs….) and fo course the sweet and drinks! Most of all this amazing view and the beautiful sunsets. Thank you and we will see you again!

Our sixth time here - gradually you can call it being addicted to this very special, ultimately unique place in paradise. It is an extraordinary haven, a sanctuary, a gorgeous retreat. After one week of endless tranquillity we are re-fuelled with enough energy to go back into the hectic urban life. Thank you so much for your generosity and hospitality. We are looking forward to coming back soon.

Ina, München

It has been a wonderfully relaxing week in a stunning location. Loved the thoughtful touches such as your homemade jams and olive oil - delicious. Thank very much!

Location

The neighbourhood

This corner of the Marche is particularly green. Set off - by foot or mountain bike - on the estate’s 2.5km ‘Sylvie’ trail. Further undulating trails start from the grounds. The nearest restaurant is 2km, while the nearest town is walled Arcevia, 8km, with shops, restaurants and a rich artistic heritage; don’t miss the amazing Della Robbia’s. In this untouristy area, slow-food restaurants abound, including the excellent Agriturismo Il Rustico, 10km ... with views.

Local points of interest from Frank & Ariane Andrew

  • Borgo Tranquillo offers peace and tranquillity in a breathtaking 360 degree hill top setting. A few minutes outside Arcevia, one of the 'Borghi più belli d'Italia' one of Italy's most beautiful villages, with all necessary shops and amenities.
  • Clubhouse with Bar, Library, Spa, heated Pool, Boccia Court, 1.5 mile nature path through woodlands + orchards set in 15 acres. Watch spectacular sunsets on top the hill at the sunset bench with fire pit - you may never want to leave
  • In addition to fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables from our organic gardens, the kitchens are stocked with olive oil, local honey, home made jams and all the essentials like tea, coffee, salt, pepper, Balsamico and of course some local Spumante
  • In 2018 to reduce plastic waste, we installed the award winning Blupura Water system, offering still and sparkling water in reusable Glass bottles - over 15000 L used so far - a saving of at least 10000 plastic bottles - every little helps!
  • Frasassi Caves - 10 miles away - a must! This limestone kingdom sculptured in the rock, y splendid sceneries in stalactite, stalagmite, and swords of alabaster and crystal lakes. The Grotta Grande del Vento is large enough to house the Duomo in Milan.
  • Detailed Information on local cuisine, wineries, restaurant, shopping, walking, sightseeing etc can be found in our guide ‘ Discover Le Marche with Borgo Tranquillo ’ which will be emailed to our guests one month before arrival.
