The Experience

A privileged setting for a peachy-coloured house. The view from the front sweeps down the hill and up to the other side, to fields and pockets of woodland; you can bask and gaze all day. Slip into the pool for the occasional paddle, pop down to the house for a glass of verdicchio. There is a meet and greet service and first-night restaurant reservations can be made, if arranged in advance with the owner. Inside, all has been decorated in simple country style: two blue armchairs, a large yellow sofa, a wooden dresser, old beams, new floors. Kitchen and dining room are connected by an archway, French windows open to a loggia, and ceiling fans keep you cool. Upstairs are three bedrooms, with a fourth cosily (warmly!) under the roof; bathrooms are traditional-modern. In winter you can snowboard in the Sibillini mountains, in summer spend the day at the beach at Civitanova – Le Marche is blessed with the Adriatic coast. There’s open-air opera in Macerata, an amazing cathedral at holy Loreto, and lovely restaurants and shops at little Loro Piceno up on the hill.

Reviews

We had a wonderful time in Casa Rosa with our family. The house is very charming and offers all comfort and luxury for an unforgettable stay. The view from the pool over the valley was breathtaking. The owner David was exceptionally hospital. We enjoyed the trips in the country side, as well as the trips to the beach. Loro Piceno village was only 2 min drive. Thanks David for all! Warm regards.

Casa Rosa holds a very impressive scenario towards the surrounding hills. The massive pool is placed just before a steep hill down giving it a unique feeling when swimming in it. The house is also impressive with its 3 double bedrooms, 2 single beds, 2 bathrooms and everything you need in the kitchen-department. The town Loro Piceno is a small but busy town with everything you need including several good restaurants. People there are very friendly and welcoming, despite that you do not see a lot of tourists there. We had a wonderful time there and we can sincerely recommend it!

Local points of interest from David Stevens

  • Coast/Beaches - The property is located approx 40 mins from the closest beach Civitanova, with other beaches such as Porto San Georgio and Conero approx 50 mins to 1hr away. Le Marche is blessed with the wonderful Adriatic coast line.
  • The Sibillini mountains are about 45 mins away. It is a national park and ideal for walking, mountain biking or simply enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery.
  • Loro Piceno is well supplied with supermarkets, weekly market on a Monday, butchers, post office, chemist, fresh pasta shop, tobacconist, ATM machines (foreign cards can be used), bars, excellent restaurants, pizzerias and gelaterias.
  • The historic towns of Macerata and Fermo are also close for periodic fixes of culture; the opera in Macerata rivals that in Verona for example. Further afield is the historic city of Ascoli Piceno which claims to be older than Rome.
