The Experience

Nothing is too much trouble for Lesley, whose easy-going vivacity makes this place a delight, while Dean gardens immaculately. Cots, toys, DVDs, a bottle of wine at the end of a journey, a welcoming smile – she and Dean provide it all. The apartments are pristine, the gardens prettily landscaped, the pool has long views. A 15-minute walk down the hill from historic Mogliano (three restaurants, shops, banks and bars) is this magnificent 19th-century country house, its four new apartments spanning three floors. The unrestored part sits quietly, rustically alongside. Inside, all is fresh, inviting and spotlessly clean. Showers have cream tiles and white towels, kitchens are quietly luxurious, sofas gleam in brown leather, cushions add splashes of red, wooden furniture is stylish and new, indoor shutters cut out early morning light, and views are of rolling hills. You are in the heart of the lovely, unsung Le Marche, an easy drive from historic Macerata and not much further from the Adriatic coast. Couples love it, and families, too. A year-round treat.

Reviews

This was my first visit to Caserma Carina and I was not disappointed. Beautiful house with stunning views. Well kept gardens and the apartments are spotlessly clean and very well fitted out. Dean Lesley and Grace are delightful. More than attentive, they really care about their guests comfort. Can’t wait for next year! Definitely going back.

Having visited Caserma Carina 5 times in the last 14 years it is when we turn the corner of the drive for the first sight of it that the pleasurable anticipation of arrival, turns into real excitement. The warmest of welcomes from Lesley, Dean and Grace also awaits us and we feel at home immediately. The attractive apartments are immaculate, spacious, very comfortable, clean and well looked after with stunning views of the stunning gardens with the surrounding hills and valleys and the Sibillini Mountains in the distance.

We enjoyed an amazing 10 days at Caserma Carina. The apartment was of a very high standard and provided everything we needed. Lesley and Dean worked constantly to keep the gardens and pool area spotlessly clean and tidy and the views of the surrounding countryside were amazing. We were provided with lots of information about walks, visits, restaurants and shops. We enjoyed an excellent wine tasting at the local vineyard and some superb and very reasonable meals at various restaurants. Nothing is too much trouble for this family, they are friendly, kind and very generous with their time.

This was our third time back to caserma carina and as soon as we arrived we remembered why we love it so much. With the beautifully kept gardens and pool, stunning surroundings, quaint local villages and wonderful hospitality of Lesley, Dean and Grace, we look forward to seeing you all again next year.

Yet again another fantastic holiday. Dean, Lesley and Grace go above and beyond looking after their guests. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they are always on hand to help and advise. This was our fifth visit and, yes, we will be back again. We would not stay anywhere else when visiting the Marche region. Caserma Carina is simply stunning. Beautiful apartments, great location together with stunning views of the countryside makes this place even more special. Cannot wait to go back there again.

Fantastic holiday, great location with the best views. Second time visiting and would still love to return at some point. Lesley and Dean are great hosts and very helpful with information on places to visit and where to eat. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay. We all (2 adults, 2 five year olds) loved the pool - it's the perfect size, temperature, setting and with tons of toys available! It was so easy to eat out with all Lesley and Dean's recommendations (all super close and very reasonable) and instant phone calls to book us in. My favourite thing about the holiday, other than the wonderful welcome, was the views- lovely rolling hills for miles around, including from the pool and from the apartment windows - and driving between hilltop mediaeval villages/towns on great roads alongside fields of sunflowers.

Caserma Carina is a beautifully kept house in a beautiful location. Dean and Lesley are truly fantastic hosts, who worked hard to make sure our stay with them was as relaxing and hassle free as possible. They gave great advice regarding exploring the surrounding area and made reservations at local restaurants for us as well. Dean’s local vineyard tour and wine tasting experience was one of the highlights of my holiday, highly recommended! The room, grounds and pool were immaculate, with a ‘home from home’ atmosphere. We will definitely return in the future!

This was our first visit to Italy, Le Marche and Caserma Carina. We were not disappointed. Caserma Carina is a beautiful country house. Dean and Lesley are so friendly and welcoming, and go that extra mile to look after their guests. We had a wonderful holiday. We will be back next year.

We had a wonderful and relaxing week at Caserma Carina, enjoying the beautiful swimming pool and trips to the beach and mountains. The town of Mogliano has all the amenities you could need, but you’re in the countryside, surrounded by amazing views of the mountains. A very warm welcome from Lesley, Dean and Grace, and a special break for our family (2 adults, one 5 year old and one 2 year old).

We had a two week stay here in July/August of this year. It was the second time we have stayed here and it is absolutely superb. We have 2 children (6 and 4) and this offers the perfect family holiday as it allows a great balance between going out and about and 'getting some culture' and also staying around the poolside in idyllic surroundings. The location is amazing. The views from the gardens are nothing short of spectacular and the accommodation is maintained and cleaned immaculately. Finally, the hosts are brilliant. They always help and provide brilliant recommendations. Perfection!

Just had another amazing 2 weeks at CC. It’s so well cared for that you really do want for nothing. With so many great places to visit within Le Marche region from a fresh fish feast at the coast to the cool of the Frasassi caves that you’re never stuck for something to do. If you fancy a lazy day, the gardens and pool at CC are the perfect place to relax, especially with Dean’s drinks shed only steps away. Dean and Lesley’s local knowledge is invaluable and they’re always on hand to give directions, book a restaurant and make recommendations. CC is perfect to experience a bit of real Italy.

Lovely house and lovely hospitality from Lesley and Dean! Our loft apartment was amazing: very spacious for a family of four and very well-equipped. The pool and grounds are fantastic and it was like a little piece of paradise in Italy. Lesley and Dean were so helpful (eg booking restaurants, recommending beaches and places to visit). The town of Mogliano is lovely and the area has lots to offer. We had a fantastic holiday here - and without doubt we will be back!!

We had an unforgettable week at Caserma Carina. Dean and Lesley have created a very special place to stay. The holiday apartments are spacious and well-furnished and the garden is beautiful, with lots of lovely little corners where you can relax in between dips in the pool. Perfect for a couple’s retreat but equally brilliant for families as there is lots to do in the surrounding area, and Dean and Lesley were always on hand with helpful tips about places to visit. You won’t find anywhere better! P.S. make sure you visit Lake Viastra and don’t miss Dean’s wine tour!!

We had a lovely week at CC. What strikes you first are the wonderful gardens which are tended so carefully. There are beautiful pots of flowers and a lovely jasmine-covered structure for sheltering the cars from the sun. The pool is warm and a very good length. The sun loungers and umbrellas are well-presented and comfortable. Dean and Lesley know all the best restaurants, best places to park and even where to walk at each tourist site to see the best views. All this knowledge is so helpful when you want to make the most of your week.

What a wonderful place! I have been telling all my friends and family about Caserma Carina! We stayed for a week with our two young children - aged 3 and 4 years - and loved it. The accommodation was spacious and cool, the pool was wonderfully warm and clean, the gardens beautiful and well cared for, and the scenery just stunning. Dean and Lesley were always on hand to offer their expertise and advice on places to explore and restaurants to try - we had some delicious meals out, and our highlight was our trip to the mountains! Overall a stunning spot to relax, enjoy and explore! Thank you :)

We have just returned from a wonderful week in Caserma Carina. The gardens and pool were beautiful and our apartment was spacious and spotless. Plenty to see in the area and lots of comfy loungers round the pool and in the garden if you just want to relax and enjoy the views. Lesley and Dean were great hosts and always on hand to offer advice. Would love to return and would definitely recommend

We loved our stay at Caserma Carina with our two children, it really made our trip to Le Marche. Lesley and Dean are brilliant hosts, providing with as much privacy as you need but always on call for any question you may have or help you may need including where to eat, where to visit, where to park, speed limits etc. The accommodation is lovely with everything that you need for your stay. For anybody travelling with children there are a few small extras that really help - plastic cutlery, high chair seat, travel cot and a cupboard full of toys. The garden and pool are gorgeous.

Caserma Carina nestles in a wonderful location. This was our third visit and we were thrilled to be reunited with the spectacular view. There to meet us were Dean, Lesley and Grace. Their welcome was so warm and hospitable. They have done a marvellous and sensitive job in restoring their property and in providing lovely, comfortable accommodation. The garden and pool area are really attractive and tended to meticulously by Dean and Lesley. They are up early every morning to prepare the garden for their guests and are always available to offer useful advice and information about the local area.
