The Experience

No ordinary B&B with hosts – guests say this is like staying with friends. Wind up the hill from the Puglian plains to the quiet village of Selva whose fine houses were built by wealthy Italians escaping from summer heat into cooling breezes. Rosie and Giuseppe saw this lovely house, which gazes out over miles of countryside, fell in love with it and bought it – now they love to share it. With warm bubbly enthusiasm, Rosie, a passionate decorator, welcomes guests to pretty terraces and garden; creatively restyled old furniture and restful colours. Help yourself to tea and coffee; nod off in bedrooms with a terrace each, where the same harmony of modern and antique enfolds you. Be pampered with natural lotions in sleek modern bathrooms then enjoy a generous breakfast – fresh juices, local pastries – on the main terrace or privately outside your room. From the house, take the Via Panoramica for spectacular sea views on the way down to the tiny fishing village of Savelletri; there are the trulli of Alberobello and the historic centres of Ostuni, Cisternino, Locorotondo to visit; Rosie can arrange golf, tennis or yoga.

We have stayed in many Sawday recommended hotels and B&B’s and, whilst all have been very good, this is exceptional. We stayed for four nights and Rosie & Giuseppe were charming, helpful and informative hosts. Their house is a delight affording us two couples loads of privacy whilst making us feel that we were part of their family. On top of that it was my birthday and they very generously bought me a cake and a bottle of sophisticated Italian bubbles! Lovely views, great breakfasts, large comfy beds and luxurious shower rooms. What more could one want.

We started our first visit to Puglia with Rosie and Giuseppe and it was the best possible beginning. A retreat in the hills with stunning views and magnificent breakfasts, centrally located, with caring hosts offering insightful tips on the prettiest towns, the best beach lidos, restaurants, pasticerrias, and the ways of southern Italy. No surprise to hear that Alfresco gets many guests returning for second and third stays.

Elegant, chic house - could be in Architectural Digest! Setting and views spectacular. We were traveling with another couple and Rosie thoughtfully chose the two suites on the same level, which meant that we had private time together on the spacious terrace outside our rooms and in the comfortable sitting/coffee room between our suites. The white cotton linens, plush towels, bathrobes, slippers, soaps and creams, coffee service - all made it feel like a 5-star hotel. Lovely breakfast on terrace each morning. Rosie and Guiseppe are superb hosts. Will return!

I highly recommend Alfresco. Rosie and Giuseppe have what the Italians call "un buon occhio", a good eye. The decor is beautifully colour-coordinated and the fabrics, linens and furnishings are of the best quality. Most importantly, Rosie and Giuseppe are first-class hosts with a wealth of information on how to best see the nearby sites, of which there are many. The breakfast they serve is delicious, with many tastes from the local area. Beautiful views from their terrace complete the picture.

We loved our time at Alfresco. Can't say enough about the place and the hosts. The B&B is absolutely gorgeous and everything including the linens, the food, the rooms and the views are 5-star plus quality. Loved the location. And our hosts Rosie and Giuseppe were delightful and full of advice about where to go and what to do. We had the most wonderful stay. Thank you!

We had a wonderful 4 days staying at Rosie & Giuseppe’s wonderful home with its amazing views of the Valle d’Itria from the terrace. Our room was both comfortable and beautifully decorated, the breakfasts were superb (amazing coffee, pastries, cheeses & fruit) and, above all, Rosie & Giuseppe were fantastic hosts - from the welcome glass of prosecco on arrival to great tips on local restaurants, sights & beaches. They made our trip so enjoyable & relaxing. We fully recommend the tour & wine tasting at the local vineyard whilst you are there. We really hope to come back again soon! Katy & Matt

Just spent the last few days of our holiday at Alfresco, Rosie and Guiseppe are the perfects hosts giving lots of advice on the area and all it has to offer and making us feel very at home. Our room was lovely and was very clean and spacious with its own terrace area with plenty of space to relax. Breakfast was delightful with local produce and all presented beautifully. We would recommend you go and enjoy this lovely place.

Rosie & Giuseppe run the most fabulous B&B in a beautiful part of Italy. We enjoyed 8 nights at Alfresco. The welcome is very warm, the breakfasts every morning are plentiful and delicious served on the terrace overlooking a beautiful landscape. The accommodation is beautifully appointed, stylish, very private and comfortable. You won’t be disappointed. Check out and eat at the local Maseria with all of the local Italians - unless you’re a vegetarian.

We recently stayed at Casa Alfresco with Rosie and Guiseppe as our hosts. I would like to highly recommend their hospitality, warm welcome and wonderful Accommodation - really special.

Guy, Taunton

The highest standards in all respects plus the feel good factor too. We got the most out of a short visit thanks to Rosie and Guiseppe’s good advice. They were great fun too and made it all very enjoyable!

We had the most wonderful holiday in a fabulous part of Italy. Alfresco is a little piece of heaven. Guiseppe and Rosie made us feel so welcome and were a great source of information from the best beaches to the best restaurants. The worst part of our stay at Alfresco was leaving. Thank you both so much for all that you did to make our holiday so great. - 'It's the little things'......

Rosie and Giuseppe were the most wonderful hosts. They welcomed us so warmly into their beautiful home, advising us on the best local restaurants and sights to see, providing us with the most delicious breakfasts, which we ate while taking in the the beautiful views, and even delivering freshly baked pastries to our room for an afternoon treat! The design of the house and garden has been so thoughtfully conceived - there is attention to detail in every room. We were so sad to leave and are already recommending them to friends and family! A very special place.

Catriona, London

Our stay at Alfresco was beautiful. The hospitality and attention to detail surpassed all expectations and we had a wonderful time. We were very sad to leave but will certainly return very soon.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and more! Having stayed with Rosie and Giuseppe last summer we found ourselves holidaying in Italy again this year. After a week in Campania we just had to go back to Alfresco. More like friends rather than hosts, Rosie and Giuseppe are exceptional in everything they do to make your holiday wonderfull. It's hard to leave such a beautifull place but we will most certainly be back again! Harold and Fiona

We cannot say enough about Alfresco. Everything from the food, to the location, to our room, to our hosts was perfection. Rosie and Giuseppe treated us like family. Their knowledge of the local area was invaluable. We wished we had stayed at Alfresco for our entire trip to Puglia. We hope to return very soon.

All the reviews say it all already!! An absolutely wonderful house in a truly special place. Rosie and Giuseppe could not have been more friendly or helpful - they went above and beyond - and it really felt like we were staying with friends. Rosie has thought of everything in the rooms to make it a genuinely 5 star experience, and Giuseppe’s cappuccinos in the morning topped a magnificent breakfast feast every day! We really cannot wait to return. Rosie & Giuseppe know the area so well, so their recommendations as to restaurants, beaches, etc never disappointed. Book your stay now!!

Caroline, London

We had some amazing 5 days at Alfresco. Rosie and Giuseppe are the most warm and welcoming hosts and gave us some wonderful days in their beautiful home! If we go back to Puglia, we will definitely stay here again.

We had the most wonderful holiday at Alfresco! Rosie and Giuseppe are brilliant hosts - I don't think we have had such a genuine and generous welcome anywhere else on holiday. Their beautiful home is a stylish and calm oasis in which to relax and re-charge. Breakfasts were fresh, delicious and long. We're already planning our next visit.

Helen, Bottesford

We had such a wonderful holiday and the warmest welcome from Rosie and Giuseppe. I don’t think we have ever had such genuine and generous hospitality anywhere we have stayed before. Alfresco is such a beautiful, calm and relaxing home, with idyllic views from the terrace. A real gem. We will return, hopefully soon.

Simon, Bottesford

What can I say, FABULOUS!!! Rosie and Giuseppe were so welcoming. There B n B was beautifully decorated with French Country furnishings. Breakfasts were wonderful as well. Very peaceful and quiet. A perfect place to view the beautiful countryside below the terrace. The area surrounding their home was wonderful as well with large Italian villa’s and of course Trulli’s. We can’t wait to return and are hoping they can visit us some day soon, kind Regards, Linda
