The Experience

Four trulli from the early 1800s clustered together on an estate producing wine and olive oil. Each has a private entrance, kitchenette and outdoor seating area so you’re independent but also welcome to get involved with farm activities.

Beatrice and her sons are extremely warm and welcoming. Opt for a breakfast basket to be delivered with tea and coffee, milk, homemade cake and seasonal fruits. Beatrice also gives cooking lessons using local ingredients – sit together and eat what you’ve made afterwards.

Soak up the sun by the swimming pool, cook for yourself using the outdoor wood-fired oven and barbecue – you’re invited to pick fruit, vegetables and herbs from the garden. The Valle d’Itria is on your doorstep, and you’re only 15 minutes’ drive from the historic towns of Martina Franca and Alberobello.

Reviews

We stayed for 3 nights in October on our first visit to Puglia, but this would be a perfect place to spend a week! The location is ideal for visiting many lovely nearby towns. The Trulli are simple and immaculate. The best part is the hospitality. On one of our nights Giorgio organized a dinner for all of his guests and served Puglian specialties and wine pairings. In many, many years of traveling, this is one of my most special memories!

Beautiful location, very hospitable hosts, nice pool and the trulli's are both authentic but also provide all the neccesities for a comfortable stay.

This is the most charming place. This is a genuine Trullo that was a family home and has even lovingly restored into 4 separate trulli. Each has its own outside area. Shared pool which is beautifully kept and in a stunning location on a hilltop overlooking the vineyard , olive trees and hay fields. It is well located in central Puglia, ideal for travelling by car to and from local towns and beaches further afield. The family work the vineyards producing beautiful wines and invite guests to a delightful wine tasting evening, tour of the vineyards and appetisers cooked by ‘mama’ in front of you.

What I truly enjoied of this visit is the natural and enthusiastic attitude towards their guests. No luxury nor fancy manners, an authentic sense of hospitality and desire to share their love and pride for their land. I really enjoied looking at the pictures of their guests and notes they left in their house books. You are treated as a special guest here. Would love to come back with my kids !

Location

The neighbourhood

You’re the heart of the Valle d'Itria and 8km from both Alberobello and Martina Franca, charming towns where you can immerse yourself in daily life – strolling along the narrow streets, browsing the ceramic and souvenir shops or sitting at an outdoor table at one of the many restaurants and cafes. Drive to Torre Canne’s Natural Reserve of Coastal Dunes, a protected area along the sea, in half an hour, or to the spectacular natural caves of Grotte di Castellana. Ask about renting electric bikes to explore the local countryside.

Local points of interest from Giorgio Spalluto

  • Alberobello: famous for its trulli and Unesco heritage site; Martina Franca: city of opera festival of Valle d'Itria and of typical capocollo salami; Locorotondo and Cisternino: two of best small towns in Italy; wine road itineraries.

Introducing

Giorgio Spalluto

The Spalluto family have been farming here for generations. Father Peter is involved with the wine-making aspect; mother Beatrice and two of her sons, Giorgio and Vincenzo, help with the B&B. They have a spontaneous and natural warmth and love having guests to stay in the trulli.
