Palazzetto Polara

Rosalie's inviting and charming home with its rich muted colours, mix of antiques and creatively refurbished pieces is a gem. Her attention to detail and guest comfort is obvious. Then you have the location! Positioned next to the cathedral with the mesmerizing views over the lower part of the city from your own terrace. A marvelous base from which to explore the southern tip of the island.

Palazzetto Polara is a pretty unique experience. It is a beautifully positioned property within meters of the imposing Cathedral of S. Giorgio. Palazzetto Polara is a joy to stay at - with an imposing sitting room, great bathrooms, spacious bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. There is both a downstairs terrace and a roof terrace furnished with chairs and tables. You are very much staying in a home rather than a property. Both Rosalie, and Lorenzo the concierge, were extremely helpful with great advice and tips to make the most of our visit.

We spent eight glorious days at Palazzetto Polara and the consensus opinion of our group is that there simply aren't enough superlatives to describe this Baroque beauty or its owner, Rosalie. While we have stayed in many rentals we consider Palazzetto Polara to be in class by itself. Walking into this historic treasure, we were immediately impressed by the sensitive approach to its renovation, as it lacked neither in character and charm nor in modern comforts and conveniences. Both bathrooms in the Palazzetto are modern and elegant in their design and functioned flawlessly during our stay.

My wife and I loved our 4-night stay here. It is simply spectacular, and we felt transported back in time--but with all the modern comforts. The ceilings were high, the furnishings were beautiful, and the stone, marble, and ceramic flooring was attractive. It is so nice that we had a hard time leaving the place each day to explore Modica or other nearby locations. The website's description and photographs are entirely accurate. Everything was provided for our stay, including tea, coffee, milk, fruit, fresh bread, and jam for breakfast.
