The Experience
This good, solid house, built in the 50s, was originally a farmhouse with apple orchards – owner Adi was born here. Rent the whole house, or just the first-floor apartment (the ground-floor cannot be booked alone). There’s a very homely feel to both with pretty porcelain, glassware, delicate chandeliers and plenty of cushioned places to sit and read or doze, both inside and out. If you take the whole house you have direct access to the pretty garden, or a lovely balcony on the first floor.
Adi was a chef – he can give you a cookery lesson if you want – so both kitchens brim with serious kit and you’ll also find fancy biscuits, marmalade and a special local cordial – all homemade. The owners give you a guest card for free transport and museums.
Borrow bikes and head out to the river Adige. There are many good restaurants in nearby Lana, only a short drive from Gargazon.

Introducing
Eva Andersag Thuile
Eva, who was born in nearby Lana, worked in hotels as a receptionist all around Italy. She loves sharing the house and garden with guests and will give plenty of local advice if you want it, but will otherwise leave you to enjoy your holiday.
We stayed in the elegant and homely upstairs apartment and had a wonderful holiday. Eva and Adi are most generous and helpful hosts, providing detailed advice on planning our days, offerings from the delightful, shady and abundant garden and tasty treats from Adi’s kitchen. We only used public transport, which is efficient and covered by the the travel card, including local cable cars. The hiking is glorious on well-marked paths, for all levels of fitness with opportunities for delicious sustenance. We swam, cycled and visited local museums, but there is so much more, I can’t wait to return.
