The Experience

This large stone house was originally built to store machinery and grains and stands alone on a hill overlooking vineyards and olive groves. The three apartments all have their own private entrances, ample living space with inviting sofas and fireplaces, and kitchens that spill out onto gardens with shady eating areas and barbecues.

Tommaso drives over from Florence to greet you with a couple of bottles of wine and breakfast basics; you’re invited to help yourself to the veg garden and pick fruit from the trees that surround the property. Ask about having meals cooked for you by locals and trips to cheese factories, vineyards and weekend markets.

It feels rural here but you can drive to the lively town of Greve in ten minutes or to Florence in an hour. Hire e-bikes to explore the countryside, go wine-tasting, return to relax by the swimming pool.

Wonderful location! Unique atmosphere to enjoy total peace, the house is very clean and every detail has been carefully considered.

Simonetta, Milano

I especially loved the owners' choice to leave the interior spaces as they were originally. Going up and down, in and out of the various rooms makes living in this stunning Casale all that much more delightful. I kept wanting to know what each room was used for in days gone by. And it follows that the views from each window are all unique. Bravi!

Unforgettable stay, I will be back with family and friends. This is a place in Chianti where to experience moments of TRUE happiness. This beautiful "Casale" seems to have kept its original beauty with all the modern comforts. The owners take great care of the place. One feels at home here, surrounded by the great decor which matches perfectly with the beautiful and peaceful views. I am sure you will agree with my review: this place is enchanting!

Last year I have been in this beautiful house divided in three different apartments( yellow, blue and orange) with my family and we really appreciated the peace of the nature that this place gave us. The yellow apartment was very cozy and all the details were cured. I also have noticed an amazing vegetable garden. It was an amazing journey and I will come back for sure!

The neighbourhood

Casale Sobole is at the beginning of the Chianti Classico region, which starts from Greve and continues to Siena. Food and wine are the main attractions here. Impruneta, world-famous for hand-made terracotta vases and statues, is 20 minutes by car on the way to Florence. You can walk to Greve in 40 minutes along country footpaths, or drive in 15 minutes. Ask Tommaso about the various itineraries he’s put together: wine-tasting and lunch at the futuristic Antinori wine cellar, tours of cheese factories, visits to the Saturday and Sunday markets in Greve and Panzano.

Tommaso Albini

The owners live in Bergamo so their son Tommaso, who is very welcoming and friendly, shows guests around. The family bought the completely ruined Casale in 2000 and restored it with the intention of selling it, but the longer they had it the more they fell in love with it and the local people. They feel at home in this part of Tuscany and want to share their experience with others.
