The neighbourhood

Set in five hectares amongst olive groves and fruit trees. It’s an eight-minute drive from the spa town of Monsummano Terme and Medieval Montevettolini is ten-minutes away. The nearby Padule di Fucecchio nature reserve/wetlands is a popular spot for birdwatching and there’s great walking country all around. Kids will love the Pinocchio park in the small town of Collodi only half an hour away, as is beautiful car free Lucca where you can hire bikes to pedal around the town.

Local points of interest from Olga De Caro

  • VINCI (20 km far) birthplace of the Renaissance genius Leonardo, is an enchanting medieval village – worth a visit alone. You can combine a visit of the unique Museum with Leonardo's incredible machines and inventions with a good CHIANTI WINE TASTING!
  • MONTECATINI (only 10 minutes) one of the most elegant “spa town”, with its historical thermal baths, magnificent parks, fashion boulevard. I suggest to visit TERME TETTUCCIO Often in in the afternoon and in the evening there are classical music concerts.
  • Nearby are many gorgeous medieval hamlets surrounded by olive groves: Montevettolini Buggiano Castello, Uzzano and MONTECATINI ALTO where you can enjoy a stroll on cobbled lanes and meanwhile discover the many traditional restaurants offering local dishes
  • Explore "off the beaten track" PISTOIA, Italian Capital for Culture for 2017.“ Wander the historic streets, explore the bustling daily market and delicatessen shops Then don't miss a late-afternoon aperitif and 'movida' in the charming SALA SQUARE
  • It's a great spot to take day trips to LUCCA (34 km) - PISA (55 km)- FLORENCE ( 50 KM)- SAN GIMIGNANO ( 60 KM) CINQUE TERRE (90km)
  • PINOCCHIO'S PARK in Collodi: a fairy-tale excursion at just 20 minutes where you can visit the very original Pinocchio Park dedicated to the famous long-nosed marionette. If you have time visit THE GARZONI GARDEN and the BUTTERFLY HOUSE
