The Experience

Watch sunsets fire the Tuscan hills; catch the sunrise as it brings the valleys alive. Views from this hilltop farmhouse roll off in every direction. It is peaceful here, and beautiful. Breakfast is a delicious feast, with produce from the organic farm, and Silvia and Paolo, a well-travelled, warm and adventurous couple, are happy for you to be as active or as idle as you like. Eat in the garden under the pergola, as deer wander across the field below. Paolo is full of ideas and will take you sailing in his six-berth boat that has crossed the Atlantic – or organise wine-tasting and cycling trips. The beamed and terracotta tiled bedrooms are airy and welcoming, full of soft, Tuscan colours and furnished with simplicity but care: antiques, monogrammed sheets, great showers. B&B guests are in the main house (private entrance) while the suite is in the converted barn. Visit Siena, medieval Buonconvento, Tuscan hill towns. Come back and laze around the pool with a glass of wine and a fabulous view.

Over the years, longtime Sawday's hosts Silvia and Paolo have established a true travel community among their guests, becoming a favourite place to return to time and time again. Situated in the most scenic areas south of Siena, they pull together and highlight special local activities, showing and sharing with guests their true Tuscan lifestyle. Very special indeed.

You are at Podere Salicotto, where Silvia and Paolo and their wondrously attentive staff ensure that your stay is divine, including charming and spacious rooms, an amazing breakfast of local delicacies and Paolo's cellar of the finest local wines for your anytime delight. Hiking trails are right there, a refreshing pool and numerous activities that Sylvia can arrange. Heaven on Earth!!! We now go every year...Book the Belvedere Suite for a special treat.

Paolo and Silvia are like family to us. I met them ten years ago when I was on a ten week sabbatical. They were so welcoming and inviting. I had so much fun. I will never forget the time I spent with them. Last year, I took my fiance to meet them and she fell in love with them too. So much so, we invited them to our wedding in January. If you are looking for a relaxing location with amazing views, wonderful accommodations, breathtaking sunsets, and charming hosts, then this is your spot. I will be back soon and we will go back at least every two years. Dont miss out on this location.

Podere Salicotto is our most favorite place to stay in Italy. We come from California to Italy for a month usually twice a year and stay at Podere Salicotto for at least a week. That is never long enough. It is the most beautiful, relaxing, warm, loving place to stay. Silvia and Paolo the owners have incredible taste. The rooms are simply but exquisitely furnished. The details are beautiful inside and out. The homemade breakfasts are very delicious. The staff is very attentive. There is so much to choose from to do every day. Many wonderful nearby towns, hikes or relaxing on the property.

My husband and I are truly blessed to have stayed at this incredible villa on two occasions. The views and colors on the hillside, drifting into the rooms, are amazing. Breakfast emphasized the commitment of the owners in providing natural ingredients, delicious selections which are representative of the area. Silvia and Paulo are charming and welcoming, treating their guests like friends. Our hope is to return a third time.....

It is several years since I visited Podere Salicotto. It was a wonderful experience and still lives on in my memory. It is the best place I have visited in its category . Beautiful. I absolutely recommend it .

Paul

It is remiss of me not have reviewed the fantastic beautiful Salicotto before now. We have stayed there on numerous occasions and found it just gets better and better. Apart from the glorious views, the podere itself has wonderful stylish rooms with comfortable beds, and we try never to miss the feast at brunch. Salicotto though, is wonderful because of the hosts Paolo and Silvia. They are very helpful, kind and nothing is too much trouble. We would find it terribly difficult to go anywhere else and would only do so if they were fully booked!

My cousin and I stayed at Podere Salicotto, I can’t recommend this B & B enough, it was the best place that I personally have stayed in and was worth every cent, the rooms are beautiful, the scenery out of this world, the hosts Silvia and Paolo so friendly, helpful and also leave you to your holiday but are quietly there if needed. We loved the pool, the little town Buonconvento was so quaint and it was away from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities, it was in walking distance as well as the lovely restaurant that was recommended. Silvia breakfast in the mornings were unbelievable!!
