The
Experience

This farm was one of the pioneers of the agriturismo movement and the ancient farmhouse has been given an eco-friendly renovation by Michela, the niece of the original owner, along with her husband Roberto and brother-in-law Francesco.

Gather for hearty country breakfasts in the dining room– coffee cake, homemade breads and jams, local cheeses and hams, yogurt and cereals; help yourself to fruit from the orchard whenever you like. You can have dinner here, made with produce from the organic vegetable garden and served on the front patio, or walk five minutes into the village for a choice of authentic fare.

There are plenty of shaded areas in the garden, and two sitting rooms, one with an open fireplace and library. Spend the day exploring some of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany – Siena is 20 minutes away – and return to a dip in the small pool before dinner.

Reviews

The perfectly positioned Podere is a welcoming and easy spot from which to hike, cycle, horseback ride or explore by car the true heart of the Tuscan region at a stone's throw from Siena and at the foot of quintessential Chianti with its famed wineries. Come back in the evening for a relaxed meal under the pergola with ingredients directly from the organic garden, drizzled with this year's oil.

Location

The neighbourhood

The village of Castelnuovo Berardenga has four recommended restaurants within five minutes’ walk of the B&B, including a pizzeria across the street from the main gate of the property. There are also shops and a large historic villa hosting summer concerts. This area of southern Chiani also has great wineries and tasting opportunities, and it’s also popular with walkers and cyclists. The Terme di San Giovanni Rapolano thermal waters are a 15-minute drive away.

Local points of interest from Francesco Corvini

  • during the summer period is it possible to appreciate some beautiful music in gardens, castles or even in an Abbey without the roof.
  • we can take you around to taste some cheese productors or visit some cellars projected by famous architects from all around the world.
  • is it possible to organize a visit of the gorgeous areas all around the property by renting an e-bike.

Introducing

Francesco Corvini

Looking after the farm and the guests is equally divided among the three owners: Michela, who looks after breakfast duties and bakes the cakes, her husband Roberto, an ex-diving instructor and Francesco, a retired architect and Michela’s brother-in-law. Francesco also cooks in the evenings and oversaw the renovation of the property along eco-conscious principles.
