This holiday house has been in Petra’s family for decades, and bits and pieces they’ve gathered over the years have been left for you to enjoy – board games, a kids’ dressing up box, a guitar, records and a turntable, as well as artwork collected during stints living abroad.
There’s plenty of room for different generations to spread out, with an open-plan kitchen, living area and library on the first floor and a smaller kitchen and living area with a billiards table downstairs that spills onto the terrace and the garden. Read a book in one of the hammocks strung up between the trees and gaze out the lovely lake, or go for rambles around the property and in the surrounding countryside.
The nearest shops and restaurants are in nearby Passignano sul Trasimeno, an 8-minute drive away, where you can also hire bicycles and take a ferry across the lake to the medieval Isola Maggiore. The charming hilltop villages of Castiglione del Lago and Cortona in Tuscany are both half an hour away, Perugia and the famed wine town of Montepulciano are less than an hour away.
