Relais Villa Sagramoso Sacchetti

Take a few days out of your life to marvel at the 40-year-long restoration of this extraordinary Venetian villa by its charming owners

8 rooms

Rooms sleep 2 – 3

Nothing quite prepares you for the splendour of this 16th-century Venetian villa, gazing over the Valpolicella valley to the mountains of Lessinia; from bedrooms to gardens and pool it exudes atmosphere and style. The 40-year-long restoration by the Sagramoso Sacchetti family has been a labour of love and is a source of pride; sisters Chiarastella and Ludovica take huge pleasure in sharing its bounty. Enter the lofty hallway, marvel at the frescoed drawing room, climb the stone stair to luxurious suites. Who would not love the elegant wallpapers and the perfect counterpanes, the chunky chestnut beams and the sweeping terracotta, the huge flowers and the family antiques? Bathrooms are bliss. The day starts at the big oval table overseen by the ancestors; fruits are from the orchard, butter from the farmer up the road, special diets are no problem. Outside the gate is the bus to Verona, the cycle path too (five miles); there’s a stunning new cable car to Monte Baldo, wine lovers can follow the Strada del Vino Valpolicella, foodies can swoon over the Veneto risottos.

We stayed here for three nights and found it hard to leave! What an opportunity to be able to stay in a 15th century palazzo. Perfectly located for Lake Garda, the Veneto and stocking up on Amarone wine. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated and guests are able to use the two sitting rooms - one with its original frescoes. Chiara was so helpful, and coped especially well with my gluten free diet - fresh GF cakes appeared for breakfast everyday. In the evenings we picnicked on meats and cheese outside on the terrace - and enjoyed the home-grown white wine. Really a perfect place to stay.

Everything is excellent about this villa! Location was amazing. The best countryside experience in Italy. The location of the Villa is excellent very close to the train and bus stations as well as to the main squares and streets of the wonderful town of Verona. And very close to the Auotostrada who can take you directly to explore the all era of Lake Garda and Venice. The apartment was beautifully designed with stunning furniture and great attention to detail. Huge comfy bed, second room with two beds for more people great bath tub and the living area was a nice touch. The apartment perfect.

Beyond reasonable expactations!! Being at home abroad. Authentic, stylish, very kind and helpful sisters SagramosoSacchetti.

What a treat! This place far exceeded our already high expectations. We were warmly welcomed by the lovely Chiarastella who continued to show us the personal attention and care that you would normally expect only when you stay with friends! Firstly there is the extraordinary experience of staying in this exquisite Italian villa. Then the rooms are beautifully furnished with antique furniture, with well equipped, modern and spotless bathrooms. The breakfasts were the best we've had in Italy all home made bread, jams, cakes and local cheeses and each day a wonderful warm savoury cake/tortilla.

A real find, a lovingly restored villa set in a stunning garden with vineyard views and a large pool for a relaxing afternoon swim with the sound of church bells ringing out. Chiarastella and Ludovica are exemplary hostesses, they recommended a great place to eat in nearby Valpolicella, some of the best food I have had, and arranged bicycles for us to cycle into Verona along the canal. We stayed only one night but are already planning a return trip. Not to be missed
