The Experience

You’re on the edge of Taipa, a typical Portuguese village, and here to unwind; let your worries rush away whilst you’re surrounded by greenery. Behind an abandoned quarry has become a haven for wildlife whilst the front door leads to stretching woodlands.

Bed and breakfast guests gather around the table together and start the day with local eggs and bacon, cereals and breads. Ian is happy to rustle up whatever you fancy. On sunny days take your feast to the garden with a birdsong soundtrack.

Take one of the multiple trails through nature and explore this beautiful spot – a 30-minute stroll will take you to the lake – ask Ian for one of his luxury picnic hampers to enjoy in that fresh country air. Hop on the train to reach the historic city of Aveiro; wander the canals and visit the art nouveau cathedral. On an evening the fire is ready to be stoked and a pile of books and games waiting to be dived into.

What a wonderful, relaxing and mind resetting place!!! We loved everything! We slept so well we could hardly stop. We enjoyed the whole place - the nicely furnished and spacious rooms, all tidy and comfortable, the quite garden and the terrace, Ian's breakfast, his helpful hints and entertaining conversation, his lovely little dog and having a drink at night or during the day - perfect. Hope to see you or to stay there again!

Felicitas, Munich

The natural light that floods the house invites you to enjoy the garden and fields below on a sunny day and to explore the close by river and woodland. Perhaps you would also like to go for a walk and discover the nearby lake. Don't forget to take the picnic hamper with you

End your day in the little cafe and mingle with the locals over a port wine; the way of life is slow-paced here, enjoy it.
