The Experience

A big house tucked up a quiet lane, there’s plenty of space for fabulous retreats – yoga groups, family get-togethers, even a wedding. Bedrooms – the most peaceful at the back – are luxurious, glamorous, with comfortable beds and Sky TV; contemporary bathrooms have organic oils and rainwater showers. An additional two bedrooms are in the little cottage in the grounds which is perfect for those wanting a bit more privacy.

There’s an indoor/outdoor sitting room on whose wicker sofas you can linger, a barbecue to fire up and a table for al fresco meals on the terrace. The kitchen is well-equipped and Chantelle can stock up with groceries for your arrival or you can hire a private chef. Find board games, books, exotic garden flowers… organic wines from the vineyard on the hill, bikes to borrow (Fraser is a keen cyclist) and log fires in winter.

Stay in for long, lazy suppers or choose from plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Reviews

This extraordinary property was truly the highlight of our family's vacation in Portugal. Our family of 6 spent 3 nights here at the beginning of our week in Portugal. We all absolutely loved the villa and the grounds. We enjoyed an incredible breakfast each morning lovingly prepared by the house manager. The house itself is beautiful -- incredibly spacious rooms each with its own bath and terrace. The family room is cozy and comfortable, and we enjoyed a fire each night. The porches/terraces have comfortable sofas that make it difficult to ever leave! And the gardens are delightful.

Alice

An oasis of charm.. a high-end well maintained villa set conveniently in the west of the Algarve with lovely views of the countryside yet well placed for trips to neighbouring places like Lagos or Praia da Luz. Chantelle has created a very good atmosphere within the villa and is very helpful in organising many things that are available to enjoy in the area.

Georgie, Sawday's Inspector

We couldn't fault this comfortable haven, away from the crowds yet accessible to lovely restaurants and fabulous beaches. Chantelle, Fraser and their team looked after us with great care and attention, a truely special place to stay!

Explore secret beaches and the more dramatic west coast or find typical Portuguese fishing villages like Burgau just a short distance away for buying fish straight from the boats. There are hiking trails, tours of sea caves, dolphin trips, golf or tandem skydiving.

Introducing

Chantelle Kortekaas

Chantelle and Fraser have been running the Quinta for many years. The house belonged to Christine's parents and they updated it considerably, running it first as a small hotel and now as a self-catering retreat. They can organise most things if you ask ahead.
