The Anchor Inn - Pub in Oxfordshire
2 Hayfield Road, Walton Manor, Oxford, OX2 6TT, Oxfordshire
England,
United Kingdom
A pint of Wadworth, an Aspalls cider, a café latte or a glass of Domaine de la Renaudie – whatever you choose, it will charm you. In the Jericho district of North Oxford, this is one the city's best food pubs. Professors, professionals and canal-side walkers tuck into delights like grilled corn-fed chicken with winter leaves and aïoli, crunchy farro with squash, radicchio, taleggio and chestnuts, and steamed marmalade pudding with custard. Or try a simple Haggis scotch egg (ours was faultless). Two private dining rooms for parties, and there's a choice of four feasting menus for those in a sharing mood. Outside is a south-facing terrace, enclosed and child safe; dogs are most welcome too.
