Lovely food, a great drinks selection and quirky interiors come hand in hand at this cool little inn that stands on the river Avon

The latest inn from Stay Original Company is in the loveliest of spots; recently refurbished, this 18th-century listed building has beautiful views across the river to the churchyard, its outdoor terrace the perfect place to sip something delicious, nibble on a tasty bar snack and bask in the sun. Inside you’ll find a winning combination of lovely food and well-kept ales, stripped floors, hanging lamps, exposed stone walls and sofas in front of an open fire. Helpful staff weave about, delivering food that makes you smile; Cornish crab cakes with chilli slaw, pork belly with sea salt crackling, rhubarb & custard tart with crème fraîche sorbet. Peruse the bar menu if you’re after something simpler - try the cider battered fish and chips. All is simple, fresh and local, and you can even get a cup of coffee and a slice of homemade cake.
