Your host, Belgian artist and photographer Marie, welcomes you to her beautiful house with impressive views over Marbella and the coast, even taking in The Pillars of Hercules on clear days. She’s cleverly split it into three apartments; a one bedroom nest for couples; another on the ground floor for four with doors opening to the lower lawn; the third apartment sleeps five. It’s easy to open them up into a larger space if groups wish to take the whole place. The largest apartment has a light, elegant sitting room to watch the bustle of Marbella below. Spacious terracotta-floored bedrooms (one has an attractive private terrace) have sea views and handsome furniture – including twin four-poster beds designed by a family friend. Kitchens are neat and functional leaving you time to relax by the shared pool, hang in a hammock, or loll on the fabulous new terrace under the pines. Don your walking boots to head into the beautiful Sierra de las Nieves – trails lead straight from the finca. Marbella for excellent eateries and beaches for people-watching are a five minute drive. There are plenty of golf courses to choose from too.
