The Experience

Come for almond blossom in February and spring’s exquisite flowers, although it’s lovely at any time of year. Surrounded by green farmland and fruit trees you sense you are miles from anywhere, yet you can reach any point on the island in 30 minutes…so sink into the peace of this warm serene corner and feel yourself unwind.

The apartments, housed around a pretty courtyard complete with tinkling fountain, are simple and comfortable, all with their own slice of terrace so you can join with others or remain private. Interiors have a cool mix of family heirlooms and delicate iron bedsteads, linen furnishings and gentle colours; kitchens are modern, there’s a games room for children and a central terrace so you can all eat together if you come as a larger party.

I was in Europe for business and had the weekend off so I chose to visit Mallorca. Sa Rota was an absolute diamond in a gold mine. So peaceful, so relaxing. The staff was friendly and very helpful, but this place is so private that you mostly never saw them or other guests. I will be coming back very soon.

Location

The neighbourhood

Sineu is 7kms away and here there is a fabulous Wednesday market brimming with local produce, as well as good restaurants and cafés. There is an even bigger market at Sa Rota (12kms) on a Thursday. Mallorca has over 70 wineries and tastings and tours can be booked. There are many restaurants serving regional dishes in their famous 'cellars' where wine is matured. Beaches are all a short drive.
