The
Experience

Between the lava fields of Timanfaya National Park, white sandy beaches and azure seas find an eco-friendly boutique hotel created from a typical Canarian 17th-century house: the west-coast setting is magnificent and views soar from every aspect. El Jallo’s young custodians are an enterprising couple who look forward to sharing the tranquillity and striking beauty of the island they have made their home. Bedrooms are splendid, peaceful and painted in Lanzarote’s white, with new beds, ceramic tiled floors, wooden beams, designer lamps, good art; stairs lead to a serene haven of a suite, with a sweep of bleached floor, a four-poster bed, two private balconies and a bathroom with a huge view. Downstairs is a plant-filled courtyard sitting room and a big studio with its own kitchenette and sunny terrace. Hike, bike, visit the artisan markets of Teguise, Arrecife, Haria and Mancha Blanca. Learn to surf with a kite, jog around volcanoes – your hosts will happily organise it all. Then it’s back home for a dip in the cooling pool or jacuzzi and a cold bottle of white Malvasia wine – raise your glass to the glittering stars and allow yourself to be seduced.

Reviews

I wouldn't imagine a better place to stay in Lanzarote. Beds are extremely comfortable and the decoration and style of the place is wonderful. Federico and Chiare, who host el Jallo, are a lovely couple, laid back and very attentive, they'll make you feel at home. The breakfast takes place around a table with other guests, which turned out to be a wonderful experience (you can find people from everywhere). The decoration of the quaint place is original and exquisite, Kiko is a great art collector, and the location of the hotel is just perfect to disconnect. Views are magnificent!

My son and I had a really restful time at El Jallo. The location is very peaceful and it is possible to go for long walks without meeting anyone else and to admire the wonderful landscape. The rooms were spacious, clean and everything necessary for a comfortable stay was provided. A large communal lounge had interesting art work and many books to browse. Breakfast was delicious, healthy and varied and eaten together with the other guests. The owner was immensely welcoming and helpful, sitting down daily with the guests to chat and suggest possible outings and restaurants.

Tucked away amidst the magic of Lanzarote, I was lucky to find the very special, El Jallo. I stayed in the Suite which was a gorgeous home base. The bed is truly one of the best there is and the view from the bathtub was a indulgent treat - always changing in perfect stillness. Aside from wifi and music speakers, El Jallo is blissfully free of technology. In the mornings, after yoga, I joined my fellow travelers and Chiara for a delightful breakfast spread, and here I experienced the true spirit of El Jallo. Chiara and Federico are the lovliest of hosts and I am already planning my return!

Had a great couple of days at this wonderful B&B. Beautiful and stylish house, great hospitality. All guests have breakfast together each morning at a communal table with beautiful views, enjoying locally sourced organic food. Owner Federico always joined, sharing his many tips and fun stories about the island's history, local sites of interest and the best surfing spots! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, and will definitely come back!

My husband and I both in our late 70's with health problems returned to El Jallo this year again and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful serene surroundings. Some improvements done since our last visit, eg. the chill area to relax.... The young couple, Frico and Chiara with their 10 month old baby, Tina looked after us like their family and we adopted baby Tina, a real gem indeed..!! We were driven around by them and were impressed how caring, considerate, and accommodating they are towards all their guests, young and old. Good work Sawdays...and thanks,

Arriving at El Jallo after 5 days sailing was a warm and welcoming surprise. The house & its lovely young owners, Federico & Chiara, are a delight. Art, books, sunshine, comfortable beds & so much more. If you want to discover the culture and nature of Lanzarote, El Jallo is the perfect place to stay. Away from the resorts, it sits close to beaches, volcanoes & little villages with social meeting places where you can eat wonderful local food and feel part of this lovely island. Federico and Chiara will tell you the best places to visit and make sure your stay is joyful. Highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay at El Jallo! We spent 8 nights there, in this beautiful, interesting house. Its very peaceful and quiet and Federico and Ciara looked after us so well. They are charming and hospitable and serve a delicious breakfast! Cereal and fresh fruit, local cheese and meat, warm bread and special tomato "stuff"! Federico is a master of information, an expert on everything from where to go fishing to tasting the best wine, from the best restaurant for seafood, to a fab walk up a volcano.

Had a lovely time staying at El Jallo recently. Beautiful house, quiet location and centrally located to all other places of interest. Perfect base to explore the island and Federico's tips and local knowledge were invaluable. Lovely sociable breakfasts and stunning rooms. Hoping to return!

Grace

El Jallo is fantastic as are its owners - Federico, Chiara and little Valentina. Helpful tips on what to see were all offered with warmth, kindness and a splendid breakfast each morning. We felt we were staying with old friends! The location is fantastic - within easy reach of the volcano and beautiful hill towns. The house and rooms are well equipped and any queries dealt with swiftly. This really is a great base to use to explore Lanzarote and all its hidden spots!

This is a real gem of a place. A beautiful historic house, sensitively restored and eclectically but very stylishly furnished. Owner Federico was super-welcoming and relaxed, and full of suggestions and ideas on where to go, what to eat, best places to hang out etc. The setting is superb and el Jallo is perfectly placed to get around the most interesting parts of the island. Mind you, we enjoyed lounging around the house and grounds so much that we weren't exactly rushing to leave. There's a great eco-twist to el Jallo and would definitely recommend it - already planning to return there soon

I stayed one week at EL JALLO and really enjoyed it. The owners are so cool and friendly. Gave us a lot of good addresses and great places to visit in this small island. I really felt being at home. The place is quiet. Breafkast in the morning with owners and other guests was a great moment. to share. This place deserves to be " a special place to stay"!.

We spent one week at EL JALLO and all we want is to go back! A very warm welcome from Chiara and Federico, the new owners of EL JALLO. We stayed in the 'Pénélope' room. Small but super calm. Our hosts provided us with many tips and contacts to make our stay all the better. Very well situated to soak up the island. A really good place which deserves it's spot on your website and should be shared with all.

Annette

Very nice place with very lovely owners/landlords. Charm factor 10/10. Wonderfully restored house, excellent breakfast, nice garden with access to jacozi(hot bubble pool) an also cold pool. Situated in a fascinating vulcanic landscape away from the overexploited tourist areas. The double room nice and fresh, but limited with wardrobes and space if you stay for a longer time. Lov.ed the place. Nice house cat.

Christoffer

A little tricky to locate but worth the search. We arrived exhausted from work and travel to perfect peace. Only the wind travels quickly on lanzarote, and we soon eased into the lifestyle fico and chiara want you to enjoy- organic healthy and delicious breakfasts and interesting conversations with well travelled and informed hosts and guests. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts who are happy to chat or leave you in peace. The jacuzzi is a real treat as is the sheltered garden. Although they don't provide other meals we enjoyed all the recommendations.
