The
Experience

Nature and tranquillity bless this fairytale cottage, a new-build of superb quality and eco-friendly design. Hand-glazed brick floors, sloping beams and old wooden furniture beautifully restored by Natalia create an air of rustic authenticity. As for the fittings, they’re modern and faultless, the leather armchairs exude style, the compact kitchen blends in seamlessly and the home entertainment fights for attention with the views. Two cosy, classic bedrooms and two shower rooms, one with a stunning carved stone sink replete with fossils – surely the most historic basin in this book! Food tastes wonderful in the open air – savour it and the views from the sweet dining terrace overlooking the valley. And when you’ve polished off the contents of the hamper, stock up on produce from the farmers’ cooperative. In the lush natural garden the lovely salt water pool is a godsend on a hot day; underwater lighting may tempt you to swim under the stars. Easy walks and bike trails link pretty villages, unspoilt beaches beckon and lovely, generous Natalia lives up the road.

Reviews

This is such a delightful property which is equipped and stylishly decorated to a very high standard. The views from the balcony are spectacular and the gardens are a joy for nature lovers. The pool was wonderful too! Natalia, the owner, was so friendly and welcoming and offered great advice about the area. There are so many charming villages within easy reach by car and the area is stunningly beautiful with the amazing backdrop of the Pyrenees. There is also a broad choice of excellent restaurants nearby. We had the most amazing holiday here and were very reluctant to leave!

We had lovely time in La Pedra Remenca: a perfect location to explore the inland Catalunyan areas as well as the Costa Brava. Thanks to Natalia's excellent advise we made nice trips and enjoyed some lovely restaurants. The contemporary cottage has a nice view, with lots of privacy and is fully equipped. The pool offers opportunity for both refreshment and play for our 15 year old kids. In sum a great place to spend a holiday week for a family of 4!

A amazing place, everything was perfect. The villa was clean and the view was fantastic. My husband went fly fishing and my son went cycling on some amazing roads ! I sat by the pool and all I could hear were the birds ! I recommend this wonderful place and Natalia the owner will go out of her way to make your stay the best .

La Pedra Remenca was the perfect holiday retreat for my husband, two girls (aged 7 &10) and I. Coming from London, it was just the restful antidote our busy lives needed. The girls loved the pool and exploring the gardens, whilst our favourite bit was enjoying a glass of wine on the terrace in the evening with some good food, or a book. Natalia, who owns the property, was full of useful suggestions on places to visit and the best local restaurants, whilst the house is a reflection of her good taste and attention to detail throughout. Nearby Girona was also a must see.

We had such a warm welcome and a relaxing stay La Pedra Remença that it was a real wrench to leave. The property is secluded and peaceful, set in the woods on the hillside of the beautiful Llemena valley. Natalia, the owner, was a wonderful host who keeps the property well equipped. She had plenty of suggestions for walking and sightseeing, but on warm days we preferred to simply laze by the pool. We hope to be back soon. Many thanks to Natalia for a peaceful and rejuvenating break.

The heady combination of a charming cottage, a beautiful location and the dedication of its owner to her guests, sets the scene for a perfect and memorable holiday. The reality surpasses the listing description and photos. If you can be prised away from this idyll, with its woodland birdsong, its terrace with panoramic views and the delightful, small pool its an easy drive to the pretty coastal villages, to Girona or a train ride to Barcelona. Alternatively use recommended walking routes to fully appreciate the beautiful landscape. Evening magic, eating alfresco as a natural drama unfolds!

La Pedra Remenca is the perfect villa to unwind and relax. It was wonderful to sit quietly and breakfast in the garden watching the butterflies lazily twist in and out of the wild flowers. The villa is in a great location to explore the region, go walking and take in the flora and fauna of Catalonia. Our children enjoyed the pool and taking photographs of the different varieties of moths and butterflies. It was especially nice to see the hummingbird moths enjoy the lavender. Natalia, the owner, really pays attention to detail and this is reflected in the quality of this villa. Superb.

The villa, it's gardens and the views from it are fabulous and were far beyond our expectations. We knew the region was steeped with history, has fascinating towns and villages but we had no idea just how beautiful the surrounding countryside would be. The wild life, flora and fauna has to be seen to be believed. Natalia's care and attention to the villa and gardens where second to none. Her book of suggested walks, restaurants etc was invaluable. Birds seen: Golden Oriole, Bonelli's Warbler, N/Wheatear, Marsh Harrier, Cuckoo, Shrikes and many more. Our holiday at Remenca was perfect

We had a wonderful honeymoon week at La Pedra Remensa. It's a beautiful place, the wildflower meadow was in bloom and the birds were singing. The house has been tastefully and traditionally renovated and decorated but has all modern conveniences. The owner, Natalia, could not have been more helpful or welcoming. We would highly recommend La Pedra Remensa and intend to return on a regular basis.

A wonderful stay in the countryside thanks to Natalia and her wish to make your stay as comfortable and happy as possible. The garden is a delight with wildflower, meadow, roses, butterflies and your very own vegetable garden. There are no houses in sight just rolling hills but the village is mere minutes away where Anna's shop will supply most of your needs. We loved walking the many tracks in the countryside and hope to return to experience this very special place. > All is quiet luxury due to Natalia and her attention to detail, everything has been thought of and privacy and comfort are assured

I would highly recommend La Pedra Remenca for families or couples looking to explore this picturesque, off the beaten track, corner of rural Catalonia. The villa has been beautifully appointed by Natalia, with stoney, olive colours and restored antique furniture. Bed linen is crisp white Egyptian cotton and vases of fresh flowers and scented candles welcome you when you arrive. Even during a hot August fortnight, La Pedra's cool stone walls and mosquito-netted bedroom windows mean that you can escape the heat and sleep serenaded by the sound of crickets and the sweet smell of jasmine.

We've just returned from rural Catalonia after a two night stay at this beautiful villa. We combined it with a stay in Barcelona taking advantage of the 'TrainHotel' from Paris (which stops at Girona - a 30 min drive away). The contrast with the bustle of Barcelona was perfect - the setting is very peaceful and even in late May/ June most of the main nearby destinations remain quiet. Natalia is the perfect host.

Neil

We arrived to the warmest of welcomes from our charming host Natalia. Nothing was too much trouble; no effort was spared by her. She had even researched delightful trips for us based on our own interests, which we gladly took. The cottage is very comfortable and attractive, a good place to come home to. We even sampled Natalia's cooking: such generous, tasty helpings! Our week at La Pedra Remenca passed quickly as all happy holidays do.We will certainly return.

Catherine

What an amazing place! This house is the perfect place to spend time to discover the beautiful natural park of La Garrotxa. We stayed there and were absolutely delighted!!! The house is tasteful decorated and nothing is missing! The garden invites to relaxation. The veggie patch was full of home grown tomatoes and strawberries. And the owners were amazingly helpful, sharing with us 1000s of tips which enabled us to make the most of our stay!

Cecile

Heaven on earth! This beautiful villa is in a perfect secluded location with incredible views and idyllic countryside. The perfect place to hide away, and Natalia is the ideal host. The house has everything you could want and the pool is lovely. The pictures don't do it justice, it was so much nicer than we had hoped for.
