The Experience

Atmospheric Trujillo is just the right size to walk around in half a day, a steep jumble of medieval houses and streets lined with artisan shops filled with famous jamón, cheeses, honey and paprika. A short walk up through town and you’ll find your studio, a memorable spot for romantic couples. Large and open plan; all is white, light and inviting.

Inside, climb the glass and steel staircase to the (no-doors) mezzanine bedroom and little ensuite shower room. Downstairs between whitewashed walls dotted with canvased art, find a sofa bed for kids, an eco-pellet burner and the simple kitchen (stocked with the basics) which leads you to the quaint patio – a beautiful spot for alfresco dining and glimpsing the celebrated panorama.
The wonderful Monfragüe National Park is a must for hiking and bird watching (50km). For culture and history-packed days, head to Merida (Roman), Cáceres (medieval) and Guadalupe (monastery and shrine) – all an easy drive.

Reviews

An old charming house restored quite modern, right on the top the hill of the beautiful medieval town, surrounded by historical buildings, churches and breathtaking views. It´s a great spot to discover interesting towns around like Cáceres or Guadalupe and the studio perfect to relax and enjoy sunset after a long day rumbling around Trujillo.

Location

The neighbourhood

Wander down to Conquistador Pizarro’s statue in the main square (500m) and the historic Palacio de la Conquistador for its ornate facade. In May, Trujillo holds the National Spanish Cheese Festival but for proper dining out, choose from the several great restaurants: there’s Corral del Rey, La Alberca Asador and Parador – all under 10 minutes’ walk. The nearest train station is in Cáceres (40km) – from there reach Merida in an hour for Roman ruins.
