Newly built but along traditional lines this house has tremendous views across the wooded valley. It’s isolated but not remote, and very comfortable. You’ll be basking in the sun at the end of a rough track where sheep graze among the olive trees; the peace is palpable, bird life plentiful. And there’s masses of space for groups to gather and disperse indoors with plenty of sitting areas, open fires in the lounge and the bodega and a large, convivial table. At the back there’s a splendidly landscaped garden, a large covered terrace, barbecue with wood fired oven and a serene pool. The south side also has ground and first floor terraces; the ground floor bedroom has the only bath; the five upstairs are pleasant and practical with good storage and showers. The owners, keen cooks, have seen that the stylish kitchen lacks nothings; and catering can be arranged. Another boon is the terraced ‘bodega’ in the grounds, and the fact that medieval Trujillo is just 20-minutes’ drive. Madroñera village and the fine Monfragüe National Park are nearby.
