A 15-minute stroll from the South West Coast Path, near a foodie village pub. Wonky walls, low ceilings, plenty of cosy comfort and care

Read guest comments

A proper cottage – beautifully kept, low-ceilinged and light – in a traditional Cornish village with a good foodie pub. The fresh, airy bedroom, with distant sea views, is invitingly cosy: uneven white walls, prettily quilted bed, flowers fresh from the garden. Sue does great breakfasts: tuck into homemade bread, muffins and preserves, local eggs and bacon, in the dining room, the conservatory, or out on the sunny patio. There are games and toys for tots and maps for walkers to borrow. You're a 15-minute stroll from the South West Coast Path so near many outstanding beaches; Porth Joke's a favourite. A friendly place.

"This cottage was a stroke of luck for us. Sue, the owner, very friendly and charming. Her hints and recommendations were very good and helpful. We started every day with a delicious breakfast. The cottage is like a cottage should be: small, neat and tidy. A real retreat."
