A special bolthole for 2, with a breakfast hamper delivered, a private pretty garden, a pub you can walk to. Bliss in the Dales

A single track runs down to this mellow stone farmhouse, which has been in the family for hundreds of years. You stay in the Hayloft at the far end: stone floors heated underfoot, old beams, sofas by the wood-burner, modern kitchen and your own charming walled garden. Up the curved stairs to the mezzanine bedroom with its vintage quilt on a cast-iron bed, and bathroom with free-standing bath and monsoon shower. Fiona leaves you a first-morning breakfast hamper of local produce and vouchers for fantastic cooked breakfasts in the village’s Old School Café. The garden gate leads onto a footpath; Hebden, with café and pub, is a short walk.

Local points of interest from
Fiona Hoole:

  • Lovely circular walks from the door. A blast of fresh air up on the moors, on into Grassington with its choice of pubs and cafes. Then head along part of The Dales Way to Hebden and back home to The Hayloft.
  • Wander down the hill to Hebden and the fantastic Old School Tearooms - for a hearty breakfast or vintage afternoon teas.
  • Not just here for the hills? How about another side to Yorkshire at Salt's MIll in Saltaire. A World Heritage Site, David Hockney Gallery and a huge bookshop too..
  • We are tucked away in the Dales. But you can be in Harrogate in 30 mins and eating Fat Rascals in Bettys or relaxing in the amazing Turkish Baths and Health Spa.
  • Inspired by the Tour de France? Come and tackle the hills! We can store your bikes or help arrange bike hire. We can guarantee an uphill finish and the deepest bath to soak away in afterwards.

Guest feedback
"Having spent many years trying to find a suitable cottage let alone a perfect cottage we were impressed by the attention to detail and restraint showed by Fiona in this haven. Not only was it in a beautiful location but also well equipped and supremely comfortable. We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night!"
