Family house with wonderful views of Manorbier beach. Katherine's home has a relaxed, natural feel with Scandinavian furniture, wide French windows and plenty of books and games. She gives you small cosy bedrooms with Welsh blankets, white linen and sparkling shower rooms; tea trays too with homemade cake. Breakfast is at a polished table looking over the Pembrokeshire Coast Path: homemade muesli, award-winning bacon, vegetarian choices... most locally sourced and all delicious. Enjoy a tipple on the terrace with the beautiful garden beyond (designed by Andy Sturgeon, RHS Show Garden); stroll to the popular village pub for supper.

  • Both bedrooms overlook the stunning Manorbier Castle, the beach, Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and a Neolithic Burial Chamber. The garden is designed by Andy Sturgeon show garden designer at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where he has won multiple gold medals.
  • Manorbier Castle has been used as a film location for ' I Capture the Castle'. It is the birth place of Gerald of Wales, a 12th century scholar, churchman, and advisor to English monarchs. He described Manorbier "...as the most pleasantest place in Wales".
  • Manorbier is a quiet unspoilt coastal village with a great cafe, pub and hotel. The sandy bay is excellent for swimming, body boarding, and is one of the main surfing beaches in South Pembrokeshire. There are several other beaches around the headland.
  • It is 10 minutes drive from Tenby with its painted houses, harbour, and Tudor Merchants house. It has plenty of excellent restaurants, cafes and blue flag sandy beaches. From Tenby you can visit by boat Caldey Island and the Cistercian Monastery.
  • Pembroke Castle is the birthplace of the Tudor Dynasty and Henry VII. It is only fifteen minutes away by car. There is also Carew Castle close by. Manorbier is situated on the coast path. It is close to Stackpole Estate, including Bosherston Lily Ponds.
  • Pembrokeshire has many golden blue flag beaches including award winning Barafundle Bay and Broadhaven South beach. In the north of the county there is St David's, and its cathedral. You can take a boat trip to visit Skomer Island and photograph puffins.

"We absolutely adored our four nights at Awelon and we will return for a longer stay next time. Katherine is the most warm and caring host. It's like staying with an old friend! The bedrooms are exquisite, with beautiful touches throughout (gorgeous Welsh blankets, lovely eco toiletries, excellent ground coffee + cafetiere, fresh milk and a plate of home baked cake every day of your stay). And did I mention the VIEW from the rooms yet? You wake up to a view of horses grazing, the sun glinting over Manorbier Castle and the stunning wild Pembrokeshire Coast. Outstanding breakfasts too. "A very comfortable and beautiful place to stay with a most kind and thoughtful host. The breakfast - worth a clear 11 out of 10 - is emblematic of Awelon: prepared with meticulous care from top notch ingredients by someone who really wants you to have a lovely day. Egg done just so, great bread, meats, mushr'ms, toms, marmalade, tea, fruit salad too. Such excellence does not happen by accident.... And, moreover, this heavenly grub is produced effortlessly. Everything about staying here is superbly agreeable. If I have stayed anywhere nicer, I cannot remember doing so. Utterly fabulous."

"Attractive house, with a beautiful garden, in a lovely location. Very convenient for Tenby etc. Quite good restaurants locally. The Manorbier restaurant was adequate; we did not eat at the local pub. Our room, the double ensuite, was tight for space - particularly the bathroom. The twin room, occupied by one person, was fine. Katherine also allowed us unrestricted use of the house and garden. She also offered abundant advice about the area and loan of maps and books and was very friendly. Breakfast had an unusually wide range of choices, was tasty and was served at whatever time suited us."

"It was a real treat to stay the weekend with Katherine at her beautiful bed and breakfast. The two bedrooms next to each other at one end of the cottage were ideal for us and two young children who felt secure knowing we were so close. The view from the bedroom window across a field of young gambolling lambs and beyond to the coast, beach and Manorbier castle was magical. We had free run of a large comfortable open plan dinning and sitting room which opened onto the beautiful garden full of interesting plants and architectural objects. Breakfast was a delight with lots of choice and variety. "

"Stunning view from bedrooms of castle and sea. Beautiful garden too. Husband and I were in the twin room which had a private (not en suite) bathroom, only a few paces from room, so not a problem. Room very pretty and comfortable, large enough though not huge. Katherine looked after us really well and her breakfasts were very tasty. Fudge the dog very entertaining! Fantastic walks from the house or a short drive. Meal at the local pub was fine, though nothing to rave about. Lovely meal at the Lighthouse Kitchen in Tenby; did not think much of the Plantagenet, though, despite appearance."

"I enjoyed my 5 days in June so much that I came back for another week in Sept! Great host and stunning views of castle & beach from both bedrooms. I used Awelon as my base for walking parts of the Pembs coastal path: 8m to Tenby for views of Caldey Is & Tenby (bus back!); a short trip by car to Bosherston Lily Ponds & the 5m circular walk to Stackpole Quay & the fabulous Barafundle Bay a must, - as is a day trip to beautiful village of Solva and if you have time, the Cathedral city of St Davids. Peace, tranquility and great hospitality are guaranteed."

"A wonderful place to stay. A light, bright uncluttered house with stunning views over the bay and castle. Katherine is a helpful, flexible host with a great sense of humour. Nothing is too much trouble for her. Bedrooms are cosy with comfortable beds and a tea tray with homemade cakes. Breakfast is varied and tasty with homemade bread and preserves, Definitely a five star stay! "

"Awelon is one of the best b&bs we have stayed in & we've stayed there twice now while walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. It's stylish & spotless with what has to be one of the best views in the country. How many b&bs can boast a sea and castle view? It's also very well positioned being close to the beach, coast path and Tenby. For eating out we can highly recommend The Mooring in Tenby. Katherine is a great host, she is very knowledgable about the local area and was really kind to us, giving us lifts to help us getting to and from our walks. Breakfasts are delicious too!"

"Awelon is an exceptional B&B and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in a gorgeous house and be well looked after. The twin room is very comfortable with a fabulous sea and castle view. The surrounding area is very interesting to visit for walking, surfing and eating out, Tenby is very close by. Katherine is a natural host and is genuinely keen to help in any way she can. Her breakfasts are delicious, so too is her homemade cake. This is a five star place. "

"Awelon has spectacular views of the bay and Manorbier castle. Katherine's welcome is warm and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the castle and the sea. The shower room was also very clean, and modern, with plentiful hot water. The complementary toiletries are locally produced. The tasty breakfast was locally sourced and plentiful and is complemented by homemade, seeded toast and smooth tasting ground coffee. The pub and the hotel are only five minutes walk away for an evening meal. Narbeth and Tenby are close by and well worth a visit. "

"My son and myself really enjoyed our (too short) stay in this lovely place. Katherine gave us a warm welcome and good breakfasts. The house is very clean and its location by the sea couldn't be better. It is surrounded by a small but very pretty garden. I hope we'll come back!"

"Stylish & clean rooms with stunning views of the sea. Excellently situated for easy access to the extensive "Stackpole" National Trust coastal site and the charming town of Tenby."
