Old Post Cottage

My husband and I booked this lovely cottage for a 4 night stay. It was just perfect, very comfortable and equipped to a very high standard. It was great lighting the log fire at night. We were sad to leave and wished we’d booked for longer. Will definitely return.

We loved staying here! The location is perfect at only 20 minute walk to Woolacombe and some spectacular cliff walks. Cottage felt very homely and absolutely loved the log burner in the evening. Overall a lovely place to stay - strongly recommend.

This little cottage is absolutely beautiful in the most gorgeous surroundings. The cottage is clean and has everything you need. The log fire was especially lovely in the winter months. Would highly recommend ❤️

Old Post Cottage was a perfect base for a couple days walking the South West Coastal path. It was warm, clean and very comfortable beds. Would definitely return (and Rich is very friendly and helpful!)

We had such a wonderful stay at Rich and Emma's place. It was a perfect, cosy way to start the New Year. Gorgeous surroundings. The cottage is beautiful. Old Post Cottage was really comfortable and in a great position in Mortehoe village. We really appreciated the private garden too. We certainly enjoyed local walks to the various beautiful beaches and meals from the nearby takeaway and the fish and chip shop. The area is beautiful and there is plenty to do - we especially enjoyed a family surfing lesson at Woolacombe beach. Rich and Emma are great hosts and ensure you have all the information you need for a lovely holiday. Highly recommended!

We always love returning to Mortehoe and The Old Post Office. It’s the perfect location and size for a family of four to explore the coastal paths and hidden coves, and enjoy the surf at Woolacombe beach. Emma and Rich are great hosts too.

We had a wonderful time staying at Old Post Cottage and would love to come back! The cottage was really homely and had everything we needed, and our 3 year old loved the toys and games. Fantastic location in a pretty village, with beautiful walks on the coastal paths and beaches without having to get in the car. We loved it!

A beautiful cottage in a part of the country we love. Very thankful for Rich’s prompt communication and instructions, it made parking very simple and everything else easy. Rich was very accommodating with an early check-in. We couldn’t have asked for more.

We have had a lovely refreshing mini break in this comfortable and cosy cottage - we had everything we needed. The cottage is in a great location with lots of walks and spectacular coastline on your doorstep. Rich is a very friendly and helpful host. Hope to return here again

Fantastic cottage. Lovely and quiet, lots of space and perfect for me, my wife and our little boy. He loved reading all the books and playing the games! Brilliant location for lovely walks and easy trips to the beach in Woolacombe.

Wonderfully cosy cottage in a picturesque village. Rich the owner was very helpful when needed and would recommend to anyone looking for some peace and quiet whilst being surrounded by some beautiful scenery. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you could need.

Old Post Cottage is a beautiful cosy stay. Done with much love and attention to detail, it’s the perfect home base for long beach walks along Woolacombe Bay or the coastal path. The kitchen is very well equipped and the living room with the stove is beyond cosy. Rich is a kind host, who responds quickly and made arrival and departure super easy. We wholeheartedly recommend this stay.

What a fabulous Cottage! Absolutely immaculate, fully equipped, spacious, everything you want from a holiday, perfect spot for hiking and fantastic beaches. We had an amazing four day break, we will be coming back!

We found it to be a homely and very well presented cottage, with modern facilities which did not intrude on the charm of this traditional and historic building. The large garden was a bonus, and the location was ideal for access to both local facilities and the countryside overlooking this beautiful part of the coast.

We Loved the Old Post, it has lots of old character and charm, it's cosy, warm and clean. (Nice big telly, modern appliances in the kitchen and Hot water!) Lovely big garden. The best thing is definitely the location, lots of North Devon is rural but because Mortehoe is right in the middle of National Trust Land it's all accessible (rather than being blocked off by farmers fences and hedges) and it's spectacular. Woolacoombe is walking distance (no need to drive) Coombesgate beach is fantastic (NT do great 'rockpool rambles' if you have kids) short drive to Croyde or Saunton Sands. Loved it.

Thanks for the stay in the cottage, we absolutely loved the place. One of the nicest cottages we’ve stayed in (and we have stayed in a lot!). We loved the character and the location. We made good use of the next door takeaway and the national trust tea shop. Best of all was your advice on where to go on Woolacombe beach to escape the crowds. The parking spots beyond the village along the Cliff top were perfect. The place had everything and we really appreciated you leaving us a few dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls. We even had the perfect weather!

Old Post Cottage was perfect in every way for our week's stay. Its location on the coastal path meant we didn't need to get in the car once - Mortehoe and the nearby farm shop had everything we needed. The most marvellous walks were on our doorstep, and we were blessed with fine weather. On the wet, windy days, it was lovely to come back to the cottage, which, as others have commented, is cosy and warm, having efficient central heating. We were pleasantly surprised by the size and sunny aspect of the garden too - the photo doesn't really do it justice. We certainly hope to return!

A card and bottle of wine welcomed us to a warm, comfy and convenient cottage with a well equipped kitchen, including a cafetiere and milk frother for those lazy mornings. The South West coast path is almost on the doorstep, as are the popular sandy beaches. It's a reasonably short drive to Exmoor and beyond for further exploring. Emma's information was very comprehensive, covering everything we needed to know. The cottage is in the centre of the village but was very quiet. I paid to park in the village car park for the week, which also covered other long stay car parks in N. Devon towns.

Despite some pretty wet and windy weather, we had a wonderful week at Old Post Cottage. The location is fantastic for walking - several right from the doorstep. The village is really well served by two shops and pubs. We had an excellent meal at Miss Fea's which is just round the corner. The cottage itself is superb - comfortable beds and plenty of central heating radiators throughout so it was always lovely and warm. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for proper cooking with a really good hob, oven and a large fridge-freezer. We'd highly recommend this cottage.
